Bellator 301 takes place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago this Friday night. The headline event sees Welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov defend his belt against Jason Jackson. Amosov (-400) is the favorite to win, and here we tell you what his chances of victory are in our latest MMA betting picks.
Also on this Friday’s card is a huge Bantamweight unification clash between Sergio Pettis (+225) and Patchy Mix (-285). Pettis is the current champion, with Mix holding the interim belt. Patchy Mix is favored to unify the belts in the co-main event on the night.
The rest of the main card sees Danny Sabatello (-120) take on Raufeon Stots (-110) in another Bantamweight showdown. A.J. McKee (-240) takes on Sidney Outlaw (+190) in the Lightweight division, as well as Patricky PitBull Freire (+425) and Alexander Shabliy (-600) squaring off in what is known as a Lightweight Grand Prix semi-final.

Before we get on to the Bellator 301 main event, just a reminder that we will also be covering the fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington at UFC 296 next month. The latest UFC Vegas betting odds for the fight are very close. Edwards is the champion and the slight favorite at -125. Covington is +105 to beat the Birmingham-based fighter in what will be his second Welterweight title defense.
Yaroslav Amosov has a mixed martial arts record of 27-0. Since he made his debut in Bellator in July 2018, the Ukrainian has an 8-0 record within the organization. Six of his eight wins have come by decision, with five unanimous. The other two wins have come by a choke submission and TKO. The TKO was when the doctor stopped his fight against Mark Lemminger at Bellator 244.
His three most recent fights have all been won by decision. In November 2020, he defeated Logan Storley by split decision at Bellator 252. He then defeated Douglas Lima by unanimous decision to win the Welterweight World Championship at Bellator 260, and he again defeated Storley – this time by unanimous decision – in his only title defense to date. This Friday night, he puts the title on the line for the second time against Jackson.
Jason Jackson has a far less distinguished record than his opponent does. The 33-year-old has a MMA record of 16-4, which is 7-1 within the Bellator franchise. In his last six fights, Jackson has won by unanimous decision. This is his second stint in Bellator. His first only lasted one fight. That was back in 2018 when he defeated Jordon Larson by TKO in the first round.
On his return to Bellator in October 2019, Jackson lost to Ed Ruth in a split decision. Since that loss, he has gone on the six-fight winning streak by unanimous decision. All this means that since his return to Bellator in 2019, all seven of Jackson’s fights have gone the distance.
In total, nine of Johnson’s 16 wins have come by decision. Of the other seven, four were by knockout, and three by submission. Of his four defeats, two were by knockout and two by decision.
Yaroslav Amosov is the heavy favorite to win the fight at just -400 on the money line. His opponent, Jason Jackson, is +300. In the total rounds betting, no surprise to see that over 4.5 rounds is -175, and under 4.5 is +145.
Moving onto the props markets, and it is just -170 for the fight to go to the judges’ scorecards. For the fight not to go the distance, you can get +140.

This looks like a fight for the MMA technical purists. Amosov is a world-class Sambo wrestler with skills honed over the years that have helped him adapt perfectly to the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
After a long spell out of the octagon to remain in his Ukrainian homeland, Amosov stepped back in after nearly two years out and dominated Logan Storley in February this year. He looks superior to Jackson in every aspect of MMA. For Jackson to have a chance, he needs Amosov to be off the pace on the night. Apart from that, it’s difficult to give Jackson any chance.
