Each week, Dana White and Co. put together quite the lineups for some exciting MMA events. Later this month, we’ll have more of the same throughout. In this article, we have our picks for UFC Fight Night on June 19. In this one, the main event is no question the upcoming battle between Chan Sung Jung going up against Dan Ige. Which stud will end up coming out on top?
Dan Ige is a small favorite going up against Chan Sung Jung
Come June 19, these two standouts will indeed be ready to enter the octagon and put on a show for everyone to enjoy. Heading into things, Dan Ige is a small favorite going up against Chan Sung Jung. Everyone, including the Las Vegas Sportsbooks, are predicting this bout to be an all-out brawl. Don’t be surprised if this one ends up going the distance.
With that said, Sung Jung has been given -115 UFC odds, while Ige is the favorite at -104. That tells you just how close this fight could end up being. Both of these guys are known for being tremendous, smart fighters. They’re going to be on top of their game from start to finish, while looking to wear down their opponents in a vicious type of manner.
For his UFC career, Sung Jung is 16-6-0, while Ige is 15-3. In his last fight, Sung Jung took on Brian Ortega in October of 2020. The two ended up beating the heck out of each other, with the fight lasting the full five rounds. It was a meeting that UFC supporters still talk about. In the end, though, Ortega ended up winning via a judges’ decision.
As for Ige, he took on Gavin Tucker in March. He fared a bit better than Sung Jung, as Ige put on a total show going up against Tucker, as he won via a first-round TKO. He was clearly the dominant fighter. Will the same be the case going up against Sung Jung? We think so, which is why we’re no question going with Ige as our pick to come out victorious.
Can Serghei Spivac take down Aleksei Oleinik?
Entering this June 19 showcase as well, folks will want to know the following: can Serghei Spivac take down Aleksei Oleinik? Things are looking like that should be the case, as Spivac is the favorite with the two outstanding fighters getting ready to go to war. Similar to the other fights for June 19, Spivac and Oleinik will be a must-see kind of a battle here.
This is the co-main event and for good reason. These two guys are absolute monsters with the gloves on, and this is sure to be quite the intriguing heavyweight battle. Both Spivac and Oleinik feature out of this world power, with the ability to drop their opponents with one clean punch to the jaw. We’d be stunned if this particular fight didn’t end in a TKO.
As things stand, Spivac holds -230 odds, and Oleinik is +188. Oleinik sure has the experience to his side, as he’s 59-15-1 in his career. On the other side of things, Spivac is 12-2-0. Regardless of the extra fights Oleinik has participated in, that doesn’t mean that Oleinik should be given any kind of an advantage. No, not at all in this instance.
Instead, Spivac has been downright impressive whenever he’s been fighting and that will once again be the case on June 19. We’re confident that Spivac will be able to use his strength and power to his advantage in cruising to a big win over Oleinik. We’re also predicting either a first-round or second-round knockout. Yup, Spivac will be our pick to win. Don’t forget to check out our UFC betting sites to get your bets in as well.
Tim Means should have no problems going up against Danny Roberts
Last but not least, Tim Means should have no problems going up against Danny Roberts later this month. In what should be a fun welterweight matchup, the wide expectation is that Means will take down Roberts and do so in convincing fashion. Means is 31-12-1 in his UFC days, while Roberts is 17-5-0. These two are nearly identical in size.
Means checks in at 6-2, 170 pounds, while Roberts is 6-1, 170 pounds. Means is 37 years old, while Roberts is 33. Before the two get inside of the octagon, Means will have the confidence knowing that he’s the favorite with his -188 odds. Roberts on the other hand will hope his +155 odds can turn to be motivation for him to prove his doubters wrong.
We don’t think Roberts will be able to get that done, though. Means is quite the fighter and his versatility and athleticism should prove to be too much in this case. He’ll give Roberts everything he can handle once the first rounds gets underway and he won’t let up whatsoever going up against him. Look for Means to record an impressive victory, as he’s our pick.
