People are still talking about UFC 276, as the best fighters in the world put on another show for MMA fans to enjoy. So, what’s next for UFC? Oh, there’s another headliner coming in a few weeks and fans all over the globe can’t wait for brawlers to get inside the octagon. In this article, we have futures picks for UFC 277 on July 30, which includes the showdown between Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes.
Nunes is the strong favorite against Pena
As you might have been able to guess, Nunes is the strong favorite against Pena, as Nunes continues to remind people why she’s one of the best female fighters of all time. People can’t wait for these two fighters to put the gloves on, as this will be the main event for UFC 277. Fans are ready to see both of these stars throw some big-time punches in the process as well.
Nunes will enter this fight with her 21-5-0 record, while Pena is an impressive 12-4-0. The two Bantamweight fighters know what it takes to come out on top against elite competition, which is only going to make this fight all the more interesting. Nunes knows she will have her hands full in this bout, but she’s no question looking forward to the challenge. With that said, these two don’t like one another.
“When I said that she promised to fight me at UFC 200 and that this fight has been brewing for five years like she might view that as crap talk but that’s legitimately what happened when she said that she would fight me and then chose to fight somebody else and chose to fight somebody else and chose to fight somebody else, multiple times. That’s not me s—t talking, that’s just me bringing to light what has happened to me and my career,” Pena said.
This will be the second time these two face-off, as Pena pulled off a massive upset the last time these two faced. However, you know that Nunes is going to want revenge. Per the best-rated sportsbooks, Nunes holds -290 UFC odds, while Pena has been set at +235. We don’t think Pena will get the job again, as we’re going with Nunes as our pick to come out on top.
Brandon Moreno should cruise to a win over Kai Kara-France
In another exciting matchup, Brandon Moreno should cruise to a win over Kai Kara-France. This meeting is listed as the co-main event and for good reason. Moreno is 19-6-2 in his career, while Kara-France is an impressive 24-9-0. This two feature not only great speed but also some fantastic power. This one very well could end in a knockout in either the first or second round.
According to the oddsmakers, Moreno has been given -225 odds, while Kara-France is at +188. This tells you how confident Las Vegas is in Moreno having his hand raised by the judge later this month thanks to an impressive showing. Similar to the previous matchup we discussed, this one really should be a tight one. It really could go either way.
“Kai is a real problem,” Moreno told MMA Junkie on his upcoming matchup with Kara-France at UFC 277 in the co-main event. “I think one of the things that happened with his previous opponents is that they didn’t give him his respect. Both Cody Garbrandt and Askar Askarov, I think they saw themselves already past him.”
From that quote, you can see that Moreno will not be taking this battle lightly, as he knows just how good Kara-France can be. Moreno might be the favorite, but he’s entering this fight with a humble mentality. This is obviously great to see. From our chair, though, we think Moreno will be able to win this one in a dominant fashion. He’s our pick. Agree? Check out our UFC betting sites to get a wager in.
Derrick Lewis is the small favorite over Sergei Pavlovich
Last but not least, Derrick Lewis is the small favorite over Sergei Pavlovich in what should be an amazing heavyweight tilt. Everyone knows about Lewis and his strength. If you drop your head at the wrong moment, he can make you pay in the blink of an eye. With that said, Pavlovich is also a machine and he can put you on the ground with one powerful punch as well.
With both of these guys being such fierce competitors, it only makes this matchup even more intriguing. On paper, Lewis indeed is the favorite, but Pavlovich has been near perfect in his MMA days. He enters this fight with a 15-1-0 record. As for Lewis, he’s 26-9-0. Lewis will look to record win No. 27 for his career, while Pavlovich is eyeing No. 16 for his resume.
Call us crazy, but we think that Pavlovich is going to surprise plenty of people in this fight. He’s got what it takes to bring Lewis down with force and seal an upset win that will make countless headlines. We’re going with Pavlovich as our pick for this one.
