Jalin Turner has a Mixed Martial Arts record of 13-7. He comes into this fight after losing his previous two bouts. Before the two defeats, he was on a five-fight winning streak that saw him climb the UFC rankings to 10th place.
The 28-year-old Californian lost his two recent fights on split decisions. At UFC 285 in March, he lost to Mateusz. And at UFC 290 in July, he lost his 158 catchweight fight with Dan Hooker.
Overall in his career, Turner’s 13 wins have come by nine knockouts and four submissions. In his seven defeats, he has lost by decision on four occasions and by knockout three times.
Bobby Green is a 37-year-old MMA veteran with a fight record of 31-14-1-1. It was thought that his better days were behind him, but he has won his last two fights against Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson, also winning the Performance of the Night award on both occasions.
Wins over Tony Ferguson of late can be played down (by some) as the UFC legend is on a losing streak of six. But Green was impressive in his 33-second KO of Dawson at Fight Night 229 in early October.
Across his career, Green has won 31 of his 47 fights. He has won 11 times by knockout, nine times by submission, and 11 times by decision. The breakdown of his 14 losses is eight by decision, four by knockout, and two by submission.
Both of these fighters seem more comfortable on their feet. Jalin Turner has a significant height and reach advantage over Green, and along with having youth on his side, this could be significant.
Although Bobby Green recently submitted Tony Ferguson, it’s hard to envisage him taking the fight to the mat. As the UFC Vegas betting odds of +1300 show, a win for submission by Green is highly unlikely.
