Amanda Ribas is a 30-year-old from Brazil with a career MMA record of 13-4. In the UFC, her record is 8-2, and she is ranked No.8 in the Flyweight division.
As the odds show, Ribas isn’t a big-hitting fighter. But despite this, she prefers to be on the front foot, implementing a high-tempo striking and punching game plan to try and create takedown opportunities.
In her most recent fight, she defeated Luana Pinheiro on the Allen vs. Craig Fight Night undercard in November 2023. She ended the fight in the third round by a TKO after a spinning kick and a flurry of punches, earning her the Performance of the Night.
She has suffered setbacks recently, though. In her last six fights, she has won three and lost three. And like her opponent, she has switched between Flyweight and Strawweight in recent times, sometimes upsetting her rhythm.

Like Ribas, Rose Namajunas is also a technical fighter who looks to get on the front foot with a series of kicks and punches. This mode of attack has led to her five submission wins. Softening up the opponent, taking her to the ground, before executing the rear-naked choke hold. But a word of caution, she hasn’t won by this method since April 2017.
The former champion has two losses in her last two fights. Her defeat to Carla Esparza at UFC 274 was a particularly disappointing one. Not only did she lose her Strawweight belt, but she failed to turn up on the night and do herself justice.
Her first fight at Flyweight was a unanimous decision loss to Manon Fiorot in September. And although it was an improvement on her performance against Esparaz, it still looked well short of her best.
On paper, this looks like a 50/50 fight. We’re surprised to see the odds on a win for Namajunas so short, especially given her more recent switch to the division, and also, her last two performances.
