It’s hard to believe we are already at the end of the F1 season, but unfortunately, we are.
And what a season it’s been. In the beginning, it looked set to be another procession for Max Verstappen and Red Bull, but it ended up being anything but.
Okay, Verstappen won the Drivers’ Championship again, his fourth in succession. But Lando Norris pushed him hard, and until Verstappen’s remarkable win in Sao Paulo (Round 21), the title was in the balance.
Finally, there are still a couple of issues to sort out this season. Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are battling for P2 in the Drivers’ Championship. And McLaren and Ferrari are still trying to sort out who will win the Constructors’ Championship.
We will look at that later. But first, let’s take a look at the betting to win Sunday’s season finale.
Betting to win the 2024 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix
In the latest Las Vegas odds, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are the +225 joint-betting favorites to win the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc is the third-favorite at +485, with the in-form George Russell at +800, and Oscar Piastri at +900.
Driving in his last race for Ferrari, Carlos Sainz is +900. While driving in his last race for Mercedes (before taking the place of Sainz at Ferrari), Lewis Hamilton is +1000.
Finally, in the winning car betting, McLaren is the favorite at +150. Red Bull is second at +210, Ferrari is third at +275, and Mercedes is fourth at +400.

It seems crazy to be writing this, but thanks to Lando Norris failing to slow down for a Yellow Flag in Qatar last Sunday, there is now a market to ‘win the Drivers’ Championship without Verstappen‘ live again.
Norris was fighting for the race lead with Max Verstappen but was handed a 10-second stop/go penalty for failing to slow down for a Yellow Flag. The punishment saw Norris drop from P2, where he was challenging for P1, to the back of the field.
The upshot is that Norris finished the race with two points, instead of the 18 he was set to get for a P2 finish, or 25 for the race win. In a double hit for Norris, Charles Leclerc picked up a bonus three points from finishing P2, instead of P3.
Had Norris held onto P2 in the Qatar race, he would have already secured P2 in the 2024 Drivers’ Championship. He still should finish P2. But Norris (349) now only has an 8-point lead over Leclerc (341).
In betting terms, Norris is still the heavy favorite at -600, with Leclerc at +350. We expect Norris to finish ahead of Leclerc. But it has been such a mad season for the Brit, who knows what might happen on Sunday.
Constructors’ Championship: McLaren vs. Ferrari
The Yellow Flag controversy that cost Lando Norris dearly last weekend in Qatar has also kept Ferrari interested in the Constructors’ Championship.
It is still McLaren’s to lose. They hold a 21-point lead over the Scuderia.
Even a Ferrari 1-2 on Sunday wouldn’t be enough to clinch the title for the Italian outfit. And this is reflected in the betting, with McLaren the favorite at -900, and Ferrari at +550.
But McLaren can’t afford any more mistakes. And at the moment they are making enough.
Our 2024 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix betting picks and race predictions
With the pressure on McLaren and Ferrari this weekend, we feel that Max Verstappen is well-placed to capitalize and claim another Grand Prix win.
Time and time again this season, Verstappen has found a way to win races. He isn’t the sort of guy to sit back and take it easy. He will see a strong finish to this season as a way of imposing himself on his rivals ahead of the 2025 season.
Verstappen also has an ego. And the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is one of F1’s showpiece races. With two wins in his last three races, we make the in-form Max Verstappen our betting pick to win the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
