With summer almost officially here, there’s more and more MMA action for fans to enjoy. This of course includes UFC 275, which is set to be a truly spectacular event. In this piece, we have picks for UFC 275 on June 11, which of course includes the matchup between Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka. Which superstar fighter will end up coming out on top?
Prochazka is the favorite to win at UFC 275
As you might have been able to guess, Prochazka is the favorite to win at UFC 275 going up against Teixeira. These two light heavyweights are known for their incredible power, which is why they’re the main event for this event too. Despite Prochazka being the favorite, that doesn’t mean that Teixeira won’t be motivated to try and come out on top with a win.
With that said, Prochazka is getting loads of bets on him leading up to things on Saturday night. With the arena expected to be packed, the two will be ready to put on quite a show. Some are expecting this to be a lopsided affair, but the expectation is that these two will be able to keep things tight from start to finish. Both fighters know this will be an all-out brawl.
“After my last fight, I didn’t have a break because I was focused on my bad habits from fights and to be ready to improve myself and get better in every aspect of fighting,” said Prochazka in a recent interview leading up to this weekend’s big matchup. “I was looking to do the next step, especially in the wrestling — about defense in wrestling, about attacking in wrestling.
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, Prochazka has been given -215 UFC odds for Saturday’s tilt. Meanwhile, for Teixeira, he’s been set at +164. This tells you that the experts think that Prochazka will be able to come out on top, but it really should be close. With that said, we’re going with Prochazka as our pick to win this title bout. Valentina Shevchenko should have no issues winning on Saturday
In another intriguing matchup, Valentina Shevchenko should have no issues winning on Saturday when she takes on Talia Santos. Shevchenko is without question one of the best female fighters out there, as she has made easy work of her opponents. The expectation is that he will give no kind of a problem when she meets with Santos, though Santos is no slouch either.
Santos enters this fight with her 19-1-0 record. She’s been dominant inside of the octagon and provides plenty of fear for her opposition. With that said, Shevchenko is a totally different kind of fighter and she has the kind of power that can hurt any opponent she faces. She’s been on a tear of late too, which is why so many people think that she will come away with another impressive win.
“I would say when there is a fight between 125ers, I try to watch them all the time because, firstly, it’s interesting to see what’s new in martial arts,” Shevchenko told the NY Post recently about how often she watched fights to help her prepare. “Another is you definitely have to know who (are) challengers in your weight class. And the third is I like to watch fights.”
Shevchenko has taken her training to a new level of late and that’s only going to make her more dangerous of a fighter. This is also bad news for Santos, who is going to have her hands full trying to come away with an upset win. That’s going to be quite the mountain to try and climb. We don’t think Santos will pull it off, as we’re going with Shevchenko as our pick to win.
Last but not least, Rogerio Bontorin has an upset on his mind going up against Manel Kape. This matchup might not bring in the kind of attention for the other scraps on the list, but these two fighters will also be ready to put on a show under the bright lights. Both these guys have plenty of talent, which should make this fight one to remember for sure.
Per the oddsmakers, Kape has dominant -250 odds. Meanwhile, for Bontorin, he’s been set at +190. For Bontorin, he’ll most definitely have a bit of a chip on his shoulder knowing he’s such an underdog. Meanwhile, for Kape, he’ll have plenty of confidence in this case since he’s such a strong favorite. Either way, both guys are ready for war in this one.
From our chair, this is really going to be a meeting to remember and one that could go either way. With that said, we think that Bontorin will be able to surprise plenty of people and have his hand raised when it’s all said and done. Yup, we’re going with Bontorin as our pick.
