Formula 1 arrives in the USA for the first time in 2024, with the Miami Grand Prix and Sprint race coming from the Miami International Autodrome this weekend. Max Verstappen is the -700 favorite. Max Verstappen claimed his fourth win in five races at the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. The win saw the triple-world champion open up a 25-point lead over second-place Sergio Perez (85 points) in the Drivers’ Championship, with Charles Leclerc (76) sitting in third place, 34 points behind Verstappen (110).
Lando Norris was the standout performer in Shanghai, finishing second behind Verstappen for his second podium finish of the season. Sergio Perez was third, with fourth-placed Charles Leclerc finishing in front of his teammate Carlos Sainz (fifth) for the first time this season.
The two Ferrari drivers clashed twice in Shanghai, once in the Sprint and again on the first lap of the Grand Prix.
The Italian-based team has the best car to take the fight to Red Bull. They don’t want to scupper this position by fighting amongst themselves.
Furthermore, the Ferrari car is getting an upgrade ahead of the Miami race. So all things considered, this could be an interesting weekend for them as they look for their second win of the season.

In the betting to win the Drivers’ Championship without Verstappen, Sergio Perez is now -500 after finishing third in China. The Red Bull No.2 was -225 after his second-place finish in Japan but has been further trimmed, after securing more points in Shanghai.
Behind Perez in the betting is Charles Leclerc at +800 and Carlos Sainz at +1000. Both Ferrari drivers were +450 ahead of the Shanghai race.
Elsewhere, in the betting to win the Drivers’ Championship, Max Verstappen is now -10000. The bookies are saying don’t bet on him.
Sergio Perez is next at +3300, with Charles Leclerc at +6600 and Carlos Sainz at +8000.
This Sunday’s race is the third running of the Miami Grand Prix. Max Verstappen has won the two previous editions of the race. Last year, he was victorious despite starting from ninth on the grid.
It’s hard to see Verstappen not making it three wins in a row. You are simply betting on him finishing the race.
