While things had been put on the back burner in recent years due to the pandemic, the good news is in: Las Vegas announces dates for the 2023 World Series of Poker, and people couldn’t be more excited right now.
Earlier in the week, the WSOP dropped the official dates for everyone to look at, with things all get started on May 30 and it all wrapped up on July 18, 2023. This is one of the biggest poker events of the year across the planet, with countless people making their way to Nevada to try and reach the final table.
“The historic debut of the WSOP on the Las Vegas Strip delivered in a big way, and we’re excited to announce our Summer 2023 dates in time for the holidays,” World Series of Poker Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart said in an interview. “Poker players and fans can now officially mark their calendars and maybe even book their loved ones or themselves a trip to the WSOP as a holiday gift.”
This year’s tournament is even more intriguing because last year, $347.9 million in total prize pool money was recorded. This is a number that we’ve never seen before. With even bigger numbers expected for 2023, it’s only going to draw more and more people to town – and more people to participate. Every year, the WSOP is incredibly fun to watch. This year will be no different.
One thing to remember here is that local businesses will see the benefits of the World Series of Poker. Last year, nearly 10,000 entrants participated in the series. Do you think that amount of people came in from the local area? Nope, not a chance. Tourism is always booming thanks to the World Series of Poker. The new Horseshoe Las Vegas will be rocking for the main event, as so many people will be waiting to see who is the champion. This may not have the same interest as NFL betting odds, but the intrigue on laying down wagers sure is there.
