Everyone around the globe can’t wait for November to arrive. That’s because the World Cup is almost here and 32 teams will be ready to try and take home the glory. In this article, we have our futures picks for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with several teams standout out among the favorites. Will Brazil be able to capture the glory or will a different country lift the trophy?
Brazil, France, Spain and Germany hold the best World Cup odds
With World Cup qualifiers getting ready to come to a close in the near future, Brazil, France, Spain and Germany hold the best World Cup odds as things stand right now. This isn’t much of a surprise, as these four teams have been brilliant in qualifying and they’re usually ready to put on a show in the World Cup every four years as it is. We’ve grown used to seeing these teams have success.
Starting with Brazil, the South American side has been nearly perfect in the CONMEBOL table, as they’re in first place with 39 points. In 15 matches, Brazil has 12 wins and only three draws. In the last round of play, they tied with Ecuador 1-1 in Quito and then followed that up with a truly head-turning 4-0 win over Paraguay. That was a dominating performance by the Brazilians.
Meanwhile for France, Spain and Germany, the European sides are also loaded with talent and are ready to put on a show in Qatar as well. All three of these teams have previously won the World Cup, with France doing so back in 2018. That was an unreal performance by the French unit, with guys like Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe and more really being sensational in that tournament.
According to the best rated online sportsbooks, Brazil holds the No. 1 betting odds for the 2022 World Cup, as they’ve been placed at +600. Behind them, France is +700, Spain is +800 and Germany is +1000. With this being such a large field, with more than 30 teams, it won’t be easy for someone to come out on top. With that said, we’ve got one team in mind who we think is ready to be the champs.
France is our pick to win the 2022 World Cup
Can these guys go back-to-back? That’s our belief, as France is our pick to win the 2022 World Cup later this year. It would be an unreal accomplishment for France if they could win it all once again, as fans are still talking about what this team was able to accomplish back in 2018. What makes France so special is that they’re loaded with young, sensational talent.
Mbappe is without question one of the best strikers in the world. He’s magnificent with the ball at his feet and he continues to dazzle for Paris Saint-Germain. With Mbappe now being with Lionel Messi and Neymar, there’s strong belief that PSG can win the Champions League. With that said, Mbappe would love nothing more than to help his country bring home the World Cup.
We also have to bring up guys like Pogba, N’golo Kante and Hugo Lloris. Lloris is a wonderful keeper, while Pogba and Kante are two of the best midfielders out there. Kante, known as being a humble player, won the Champions League last year with Chelsea and he just helped the team win the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this month as well. He’s tremendous.
As for Pogba, he’s been battling injuries this year, but he’s starting to regain his form with Manchester United. When Pogba is healthy, he’s one of the best players in all of the Premier League. He’ll be ready to rock for the World Cup and be motivated to win again. France is loaded from top to bottom. We think they’ll win the World Cup. Agree? Who will sneak into the World Cup from South America?
Before we even get to Qatar, there’s plenty of drama in the CONMEBOL table, with multiple teams trying to qualify. Brazil and Argentina are the only two teams from the group who have locked in their trips. That means Ecuador, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia and Chile are all battling it out for the final two spots, while the team that finishes in fifth will be in an international playoff. So, who will sneak into the World Cup from South America?
With Ecuador, this team virtually has one foot in Qatar, as they hold 25 points and +10 goal differential. They’re almost guaranteed of finishing in at least fourth. So, that leaves Uruguay (22 points), Peru (21 points), Chile (19 points) and Colombia (17 points) to try and win that final guaranteed spot. What is massive here is that Peru and Uruguay are all set to meet in the next round of qualifiers.
The winner of that game will then have a huge leg up to try and get in. While the odds haven’t been posted yet, we think that Ecuador will for sure make the World Cup in the Top 4 (they’ll finish either third or fourth), and then the last spot will be decided between Peru and Uruguay. Both teams will be hungry to win the next match, but with it being in Montevideo, we’re going with Uruguay to win and for them to also qualify to the World Cup.
