2024 MotoGP Future Bets look back to a fast tale from 2023. Last year featured a lot of drama without a furious comeback. Although Jorge Martin took the lead a few times later in the year, it was Francesco Bagnaia to found a way to win and then hold off the Spaniard at the Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, Spain. Now, the sprints were a different story as Jorge Martin badly outpointed Bagnaia in that avenue. This kept Martin close even when he seemed all hope was lost. 2023 started with a Bagnaia sweep and ended with the Italian winning again. Naturally, testing last year showed the Italian Ducati to be the fastest on the early courses. Maybe, it was too fast.
Either way, Bagnaia found a way. He fended off the likes of Brad Binder, Marco Bezzecchi, and even a resilient Johann Zarco. Despite some stumbles, Bagnaia did what Quartararo could not. Simply, he repeated. Now can Bagania do it for a third time?

A few pundits may consider choosing Bastianini as a nice one-off pick. However, we stuck with Bagnaia since the beginning of our time writing MotoGP. Until someone beats the man, they will not be the man.
2024 MotoGP Future Bets avoid Martin and Marquez again. Honestly, regretting this tact remains a possibility. On the other hand, it worked last year. Our assertion that Martin will finish in the Top 3 though stands firm. Unfortunately, the belief in him winning the World Title went up in smoke in 2023 when he couldn’t figure out how to stay on the track. The Spaniard possesses the talent to win it all, but makes too many mistakes needlessly.
Unlike Francesco Bagnaia, we truly have not seen changes of that outlook from Martin. Until more of a consistent pattern emerges, Martin will have the ability to stay close to Bagnaia but little else. There lies little dispute in the fact that Martin can ride a motorbike incredibly well. It boils down to inconsistency which is something the #89 Ducati needs to erase from his memory more often. This is from last year.
Understandably, Marc Marquez is talked about and he has tested well with his new bike. However, to see him as a second choice to Bagnaia is even more out of turn. What has Marquez done to warrant such an assertion? Some race results and wins would convince us maybe the old champion is back. Otherwise, Martin would be our choice of the two.
