It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the midway point of the National Football League’s campaign, but that’s precisely where things are. After a thrilling Week 6, there’s more of the same this weekend. This piece has NFL Week 7 picks for the 2022 season, including the showdown between the Giants and Jaguars. Which team will come away with a win?
In a bit of a stunner, the Giants are underdogs going up against Jacksonville on the road on Sunday. New York continues to shock people, which happened again this past weekend. Going up against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, just about everyone assumed that Jackson would leave Baltimore with a big win against the G-Men in East Rutherford.
Baltimore held a late lead, but the Giants refused to stop believing. After a huge interception from Julian Love, Saquon Barkley scored a short touchdown to put the Giants in front 24-20. Then, Kayvon Thibodeaux posted his strip sack to seal the win for New York. Now, the Giants are 5-1 on the year, which no one saw coming.

As for the Jaguars, this team is loaded with a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. Plenty of eyes will be on quarterback Trevor Lawrence, wide receiver Christian Kirk, running back James Robinson, and others. Don’t forget about No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker, who is making quite the splash with the defense early on in his career for Doug Pederson.

Elsewhere, Green Bay will hope to get back on track vs. Washington in Week 7. Just what in the heck is going on with the Packers right now? That’s the question everyone keeps asking themselves, as this team has shockingly lost back-to-back games to the Giants and Jets, respectively. The Packers were big-time favorites for both of those games and still lost.
Against the Jets, the Green Bay offense was limited to just 10 points. That’s insane! Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, but he’s looked way off for the past six quarters of football. This team needs to wake up and fast; otherwise, this will be a lost season for them. Rodgers isn’t getting any younger, so they simply can’t afford for that to happen.
Meanwhile, this team recorded a Thursday Night Football win over the Chicago Bears and Justin Fields for Washington. This was a back-and-forth matchup, but the Commanders could do just enough to come out on top. Now, Washington will need to create some more magic if they want to take down the Packers in what should be another close-on.
Per the oddsmakers, the Packers hold -230 Las Vegas betting odds for this one, while Washington has been set at +190. This feels like a must-win game for Green Bay and Rodgers. The media is even starting to turn on him a little bit. With Rodgers’ back against the wall, we feel he’ll be able to post a close victory. We’re going with Green Bay as our pick.
Last but not least, the Raiders should have no trouble taking down Houston in Week 7. Las Vegas kept things tight with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5, but they suffered a loss and had a bye during Week 6. It’ll be on Davante Adams and Derek Carr to power this offense. The two hooked up for two touchdowns against Kansas City.
They’ll need to record a strong game against Houston to return to their winning ways. Luckily for Vegas, they take on a Texans team that has looked pretty sluggish on both sides of the ball this season. There will be no excuses for Las Vegas in this one, as their fans will be ready for the team to deliver a big-time win. Again, the feeling is they’ll be able to get that done.
If Carr can take care of the football and the defense can play to its potential, there’s no reason they can’t record a win. While the Texans might be able to make things close late in the contest, we think Vegas will simply be too much to handle at the end of the day. That said, we have no choice but to go with the Raiders as our pick to win.
