With only three weeks left in the NFL regular season, the matchups are only going to get more and more interesting across the league. This time around, there are some huge contests, of course including New England going up against Buffalo. In this piece, we have NFL Week 16 odds with Patriots favored over the Bills. Which AFC East powerhouse will capture the win?
The Bills will hope to pull off an upset in this one
What: NFL Week 16 action When: Sunday, Dec. 26 Who: New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills Where: Foxborough, Mass.
It goes without saying, but the Bills will hope to pull off an upset in this one, as they’ll head to Foxborough to take on the Patriots. There are so many interesting matchups for this particular game, but the Josh Allen vs. Mac Jones battle really is going to be fun to watch. These are two stud quarterbacks, who will be trying to put plenty of points on the board.
For Jones, he’s easily played like one of the best rookies in the entire NFL. He’s definitely got Offensive Rookie of the Year on his mind, while Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys should take home the honors on the defensive side of the ball. Jones has been spectacular, and his chemistry with Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers and others has really been special to see.
As for Allen, he’s looking like a true superstar again. What makes his play so exciting is his ability to run all over the field as well. Throwing the pigskin, he’s always a threat to connect for a big play with his receivers. The emergence of tight end Dawson Knox has been awesome to see as well. In order for the Bills to record a win here, Allen will need to be at the top of his game.
According to the best rated online sportsbooks, the Patriots indeed are the favorites for this game, as they’ve been given -132 NFL Vegas odds. Meanwhile, for the Bills, they’ve been set at +112. With New England’s strong defense, the hope is they’ll be able to silence the Bills. We don’t think that will be the case, though, as we’re going with the Pats as our pick to record a win.
The Seattle Seahawks will keep things going with a win over the Bears
Over in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks will keep things going with a win over the Bears. Seattle’s playoff hopes are on the respirator, but they were able to regain some confidence in recent weeks with some wins over the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans. For Seattle, things will all be on Russell Wilson in this one to try and have the offense operate at a high level.
Wilson has had an up and down year, but there’s no denying that he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the game whenever he’s healthy. The good news for Wilson is that running back Rashaad Penny is riding high right now, as his performance against the Houston Texans has the team ready to give him more and more work as the starting running back.
As for Chicago, the rough year has only gotten progressively worse for this team. Justin Fields is taking steps forward, but this offense can’t get into any kind of a rhythm. With the team playing so well, the expectation is that head coach Matt Nagy is going to be fired as soon as the season comes to an end. With that said, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he got fired sooner than later too.
Per the oddsmakers, the Seahawks are in fact big favorites, as they hold -295 odds. The Bears are major underdogs, holding +240 odds. This lets us know that not many people think Chicago will be able to travel to Lumen Field and record an upset. For the Seahawks, we think Wilson, Penny and others will be able to record a memorable performance. We’re going with Seattle as our pick.
Last but not least, Arizona will be able to defeat Indianapolis when they face off on Saturday. The Cardinals remain in the hunt to try and grab the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but they simply have to keep recording key wins. A loss to the Colts this weekend would be devastating for them if they want that first-round bye and keep their NFL playoff odds at a high level.
For the Cardinals, Kyler Murray needs to play better. Folks are still talking about his rough going against the Los Angeles Rams in primetime during Week 14. It was a statement performance by the Rams defense, with Murray recording some costly turnovers. That simply can’t happen when the Cardinals take on the Colts in this Week 16 showdown.
Per the oddsmakers, the Cardinals hold -176 odds and the Colts are +148. This has what it takes to be a close contest, but we don’t think Indianapolis will be able to hang tight with Arizona. We’re going with the Cardinals as our pick to win.
