The long wait for the first weekend of the NFL regular season to arrive is inching closer and closer, with football fans fired up to see how things will shape out. Who will close the preseason out on the right foot?
The Giants should take down the Jets in a MetLife battle in a meeting featuring the two East Rutherford, N.J. sides. Both these teams share the same stadium, so they’ll be familiar with the field. What makes things even more interesting here is that the two teams will be participating in a joint practice leading up to something, which will be fun.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh has already come out and said he’s planning to play his starters in this one, so it will make things quite interesting. As for the Giants, the expectation is that they’ll also send out their starters, with the list, of course, including quarterback Daniel Jones. This will undoubtedly provide plenty of intrigue for both of these teams.

With the Giants and Jets needing to bring down their rosters to 53 in the near future, this preseason game will give guys their final chance to try and convince the front office to provide them with a shot. Meanwhile, for Jones, he wants to continue to impress head coach Brian Daboll and the fanbase. There’s been plenty of people calling for Jones to be benched. He likes that to end.

With the team trading away Super Bowl-winner Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, things are completely up in the air for this team when it comes to who will be the starting quarterback. Right now, it’s looking like it’s going to either be Geno Smith or Drew Lock, who takes the snaps come Week 1. This is terrible news for Seattle fans, as both guys are close to Wilson’s level.
While the Dallas defense has some question marks, they don’t have to worry too much about this Seattle passing game, thanks to Lock and Smith. Lock is expected to get more snaps in this one because head coach Pete Carroll wants to give both QBs a fair shot of winning the job. Either way, it’s going to be a long season for this Seattle team as a whole.
Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are looking primed to have a big year. Again, who knows how much they’ll play vs. the Seahawks, but that shouldn’t matter. Yes, it may be the preseason, but Chiefs vs. Packers will be a fun matchup. If this were the regular season, we’d see Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes fight it from start to finish, with the two superstars throwing the ball all over the field. Rodgers is on the back-end of his career, while Mahomes is just starting. Mahomes is special, and so is Rodgers.
With this being the preseason, it’s up in the air if we see either guy take the field, but there’s so much depth on both of these rosters that it should make for an intriguing matchup.
