We are really getting down to the wire for the National Football League season, as the postseason is right around the corner. We’ve seen the odds change in dramatic fashion over the past few weeks, as the hunt for the Super Bowl has never been so intriguing. In this piece, we have NFL futures picks before the 2022 playoffs arrive. Who will win it all?
Bills remain the favorites to win the AFC Championship Game
Even before the postseason arrives, the Bills remain the favorites to win the AFC Championship Game. However, everyone assumes that Buffalo and Kansas City will meet with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. The Bills, they’ve been so close to getting to the big game in recent years, but the Chiefs have gotten in their way time and time again.
Josh Allen is hoping this is the season where he gets this team over the top. With the defense also stepping up, Buffalo feels like such a dangerous team. Allen is one of the best signal-callers in the game, and he has countless eyes on him. If the Bills do end up making it to the Super Bowl, he’s going to be a major reason why. Will he deliver for this team?
As for the Chiefs, things begin and end with Patrick Mahomes. He’s the favorite to win MVP over Jalen Hurts. If Mahomes can again get this team back to the Super Bowl, he should take home that big-time honor. With Travis Kelce looking like the best tight end in the game, this will only help this team go on a deep, serious postseason run.
Per the oddsmakers, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Bills hold +175 odds to win the AFC this year. As for the Chiefs, they’re right behind Buffalo at +200. Things could go either way here – these two teams are loaded on both sides. Buffalo might hold the No. 1 NFL betting odds, but we’re going with the Chiefs and Mahomes as our pick.
Can the Eagles win the NFC this season?
A big question everyone has on their minds is can the Eagles win the NFC this season? It’s been a rough two weeks for Philly, as they’ve been without Hurts due to his shoulder injury. With this, backup quarterback Gardner Minshew has stepped in as the starter and Philly has lost back-to-back games. Luckily for the NFC East powerhouse, Hurts is expected back this week.
Once the playoffs arrive, too, Hurts will be a full go. This will be massive for this team. No disrespect to Minshew, but there’s a reason he’s the team’s No. 2 QB and not the starter. Hurts has looked like one of the best players in the NFL this year, as he can hurt you either with his strong right arm or his fantastic wheels. His dual-threat abilities really are tough to match.
The Eagles will have some tough competition, though, as teams like the 49ers, Cowboys, Vikings, and Packers will also be squads to watch. With the 49ers, they hold the No. 1 defense in the league. As for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott is a special talent. They look tough at times with Minnesota, but they played like garbage in the Week 17 loss to the Packers.
It feels like this will come down to the Eagles and the 49ers. Per the oddsmakers, the Eagles hold -210 odds to win the NFC, while the 49ers have been set at -220. It’d be an incredible showdown if they meet in the NFC title game. At the end of the day, though, we think the Eagles will come away with a close win and punch their ticket for the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs are our pick to win the Super Bowl
Come next month, believe it or not, the Chiefs are our pick to win the Super Bowl. Kansas City holds +450 odds to win the Super Bowl, which is second to the Bills, and the +300 Super Bowl betting odds they hold. However, since we’re picking Kansas City to beat Buffalo in the AFC title game, we think that will lead to them winning it all once again this year, which would be Mahomes’ second Super Bowl title.
The thing about Kansas City is that they’ve proven to be superior to the Bills in recent years with everything on the line. They beat them two years ago in the AFC title game and took them down last winter in the AFC Divisional Round. Buffalo might be better this year, but the fact of the matter is that Kansas City has always found ways to record key wins.
We think that the Chiefs and Eagles will end up meeting in the Super Bowl. This would be a fantastic matchup and one that would result in millions and millions of people tuning in for it. We’ll find out how things play out soon enough, but the Chiefs surely are our pick to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
