With OTAs in full swing for the teams across the NFL, the countdown for Week 1 is really high. Fans are chomping at the bit to see their favorite teams hit the gridiron in September. For several NFC sides, they’re going to hope to win the division and then move on to make noise in the playoffs. In this piece, we have NFC Divisional winner’s picks for the 2022 season, which of course includes the Packers.
Green Bay is the favorite to win the NFC North
With Aaron Rodgers not hanging up his cleats just yet, it’s no surprise that Green Bay is the favorite to win the NFC North next season. The other teams in the division, the Bears, Vikings and Lions, all struggled last year and the Packers were able to cruise to yet another division win. However, the season didn’t go as planned, with GB losing to the 49ers early in the playoffs.
Green Bay is also going to have a new look at things next season, as they’ll no question be missing Davante Adams. Adams was traded by the Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders in one of the biggest moves of the offseason. Now, it will be on Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard and others to try and help the aerial attack stay among the best in the game. It helps to have Rodgers.
Rodgers will go down as one of the best signal-callers of his generation, as he’s been nothing short of tremendous for years. The loss of Adams is big for this team, but it shouldn’t be enough to have a drastic impact on the team. It will be on Rodgers to help keep things on the right track, and there’s little doubt that he will be able to get that job done.
Per the best-rated sportsbooks, the Packers hold -170 NFL odds for next season to win the North, while the Vikings are behind them at +280. There’s no chance the Bears or Lions will be able to push for the title. From our chair, things are pretty darn easy here: go with the Packers to win the NFC North and don’t look back. Will the Eagles be able to win the NFC East?
The Dallas Cowboys may be the favorites here, but people are wondering will the Eagles be able to win the NFC East? Yes, Dallas holds the top odds at +115, but the Eagles are right behind them at +210. Keep in mind here that Dallas won the division last year, but then they choked big time in the NFC Wild Card Round, losing to the 49ers at home.
Dallas is motivated to repeat as division champs, but they traded disgruntled Amari Cooper to the Browns. As for the Eagles, they had a huge offseason. This included trading for superstar wideout A.J. Brown. Brown was a beast for the Titans and now he’ll be ready to be a force in the NFC. Over on defence, the Eagles also signed former Pro Bowl cornerback James Bradberry.
Bradberry will now be teaming up with Darius Slay. That’s quite the duo at cornerback. With the Cowboys, Dak Prescott is a top quarterback and Ezekiel Elliott is an outstanding running back. Those two, plus CeeDee Lamb, help the Dallas offence look outstanding time and time again. The Eagles know how good they are, and the battles in ’22 will be great.
This is going to be a close battle between the two sides, as we don’t think Washington or New York will be able to make a splash to compete for the title. This will all come down to the Eagles and Cowboys, with the NFC East likely being decided late in the season. This one is going to be pretty tough to call, but we’re going to go with the Eagles to come out on top.
With Tom Brady no longer retired – it lasted less than two months – Tampa Bay will win the NFC South, there’s really no doubt about that. Brady is the GOAT, as he has seven Super Bowl rings to his name. He’s won six with the New England Patriots and one with the Bucs. While we don’t think Tampa Bay will win the Super Bowl, they should win the South this season.
Brady and Co. are coming off a strong year in 2021 and while the New Orleans Saints had a great offseason, it won’t be enough to take down the Bucs. With New Orleans, the signing of Tyrann Mathieu at safety has plenty of people talking about the excitement for this fall. However, it won’t be enough to bring down Brady and the rest of the Tampa Bay offence.
Last but not least, the NFC West should be incredibly tight. The Seahawks and Cardinals are impressive teams, but this will be down to the Rams and 49ers. LA is the favorite, as they won the Super Bowl last season. The 49ers are looking to the future with Trey Lance. In this case, though, we’re going with the Rams to keep rocking and win the NFC West in ’22.
