It’s hard to believe that we’re only a couple of months away from the start of the NFL season getting here. Countless teams are hoping to win the Super Bowl this winter, but the Kansas City Chiefs will be looking to repeat. In this piece, we’re taking a look at the conference battles that will be on the way. With that said, the Chiefs are favored to win the AFC Championship again in 2023. Who will end up winning the NFC too?
Before we get to the NFC, we’ll focus on the AFC and a three-team battle that we think is coming for people to enjoy. Right now, the top teams in the conference are the Chiefs, Bills and Bengals. There are also some sleeper teams out there who could be ready to make noise, with the Baltimore Ravens of course being on the list. They’ll be a team to watch with Lamar Jackson and Odell Beckham Jr. working together.
However, the Chiefs, Bills and Bengals indeed are at the top and the class of the AFC. With the Bills, Josh Allen is hoping to get the monkey off his back and get Buffalo to the Super Bowl. Former No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow helped the Bengals get to the big game a few years back, but they lost to the Rams. He wants to help bring a title to Cincy. Will it happen?
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Chiefs hold +350 NFL betting odds to win the AFC, while the Bills are at +450 and the Bengals are +550. It’s going to be tough for anyone to silence the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. Sorry, Bills and Bengals supporters, but we’re going to have to go with the Chiefs as our pick here.
The Eagles are hoping to win the NFC in 2023
On the other side of the table, theEagles are hoping to win the NFC in 2023. After reaching the Super Bowl last winter, eventually losing to Mahomes and the Chiefs, Philly has been working tirelessly this offseason to improve the roster. The NFL draft was one to remember for the Eagles, as they were able to improve their already impressive depth up front. Their pass-rush is out of this world.
With Jalen Hurts back and signed to a massive contract, things are looking great for this team. However, just like the AFC, there are several teams in the NFC who will look to try and make a splash. The list of course includes the San Francisco 49ers, a team that features arguably the best defense in the entire NFL. The big question for SF is what coach Kyle Shanahan will decide at quarterback.
Right now, Brock Purdy and Trey Lance figure to be the favorites to win the job, but never rule out Sam Darnold either. The veteran quarterback has plenty of experience. Elsewhere, the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott are a team to watch, as are the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, New York Giants and more. This really feels like a wide open race.
Per the oddsmakers, the Eagles hold the top NFC betting odds, as they’ve been set at +330. The 49ers are right behind them at +400, while the Cowboys have been set at +600. A lot can change over the next few months and we could see teams’ odds both rise and fall. Having said all of that, something tells us San Francisco will have a year to remember. We’re going with the 49ers as our pick.
Fans are hoping for a Super Bowl rematch this winter
When looking ahead to the new campaign, it’s safe to say that fans are hoping for a Super Bowl rematch this winter. The Chiefs and Eagles recorded one of the most memorable Super Bowls of all time last February, with Kansas City erasing a double-digit deficit to come away with the thrilling victory. As expected, Mahomes took home Super Bowl MVP honors.
Now, these two teams hold the best Super Bowl odds entering the new season, which isn’t much of a surprise at all. Mahomes and Hurts are easily two of the best players in the NFL. What they were able to do last year was unreal. The hype is at an all-time high for both of these teams. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a Super Bowl rematch on the way for people to enjoy.
However, we are doubling down on the 49ers to win the NFC. This would result in the Chiefs and San Francisco facing off with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. Right now, KC holds +600 Super Bowl odds, while the Eagles are +850 and the 49ers are +950. Anything can happen leading up to the postseason too, but our hunch tells us it will be the Chiefs vs. the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
