We’re already at Week 11 of the college football season, so with the season now getting to the business end, we look at this weekend’s top matches and name our latest free NCAAF betting picks.
Last weekend we were treated to some seismic action. The clash between Georgia and Tennessee didn’t disappoint. But the big story was another loss for the Alabama Crimson Tide. They now need a miracle to reach the SEC Championship game, which is reflected in the betting to win the NCAAF Championship, which we will look at in more detail later.
The clash of the weekend was the aforementioned Bulldogs against the Volunteers. Could the Volunteers add the scalp of the Bulldogs to that of the Crimson Tide that they claimed earlier in the season? No, is the short answer. With home advantage, the Bulldogs were victorious by 27 points to 13. It was their ninth win of the season and saw Kirby Smart’s team maintain their 100% record.
It was their first campaign defeat for the Volunteers, meaning Josh Heupel’s side is now 8-1 this season. It was a big ask to defeat both the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs in the same season, and unfortunately for Tennessee, they fell just short.
Latest Betting Odds to win 2023 NCAAF Championship
This has had quite an impact on the betting to win the 2022/23 NCAAF Championship. The favorites are the Georgia Bulldogs at +100, the Ohio State Buckeyes at +250, and Michigan at +700.
The Volunteers are now out to +1400 after their defeat on Saturday. But the biggest movers are the Crimson Tide, who now find themselves at a massive +5500 after their latest setback.
A more somber-sounding Nick Saban sat down to speak to the media after the 32-31 defeat to LSU. Saban’s usual aggressive rhetoric was replaced with a more resigned tone, as he had to acknowledge his team had made too many mistakes – again – in the loss.
Elsewhere, Georgia underlined their number 1 ranking and their favorites tag with the best NCAAF betting sites. BetOnline now has them on their own in the betting at +100. This is not just down to their excellent win over the Volunteers but also, in part, down the Buckeyes. Although Ohio State beat Northwestern 21-7, it was a less-than-impressive win.
BetOnline provides all the above odds. You can read more about this bookie at our BetOnline sportsbook review. Now, onto this weekend’s NCAAF betting picks.
Mississippi (8-1) v Alabama (7-2)
It’s fair to say Mississippi is the focus of attention for us this weekend, and our first game involves 11th-ranked Ole Miss against 10th-ranked Alabama.
On the moneyline, the best sportsbooks have Alabama at -430, with Mississippi at +350. The handicap marker is set at 11.5 points in favor of Mississippi. With the 11.5 points start, Mississippi is -110. The Crimson Tide are also -110 from -11.5 points. Finally, the Total Points spread is set at 64. Over 64 is -105, with under 64 favorite at -115.

When; Saturday, November 12th, 2022
Time; 3.30 pm ET
In their last match, Mississippi did hard work of defeating Texas A&M by 31 points to 28. Before that, they lost their only match so far this season, 45-20, to LSU. As for Alabama, we’ve heard about their recent woes, but they’ve lost two of their last three fixtures.
Three of the Rebels’ last four matches have seen 60 points or more scored. The one that didn’t have 59 points in it. With Alabama’s defensive issues, I’m going for a high-scoring game here, so I like the look of over 64 points at -105 for my first pick.

I’m also backing Alabama to bounce back with a win. With their current form, I’m not backing them at -430 on the moneyline. But I think they are good value to win from -11.5 points on the handicap, so I make Alabama -11.5 points my second betting pick.

Finally, onto the betting favorites to win the NCAAF, also playing in Mississippi.
The Bulldogs (of Georgia) are away at the Bulldogs of Mississippi State on Saturday evening. Mississippi isn’t expected to be pushovers and only gets 16.5 points on the handicap.
What; Mississippi State Bulldogs v Georgia Bulldogs
Where; Davis Wade Stadium, Mississippi
When; Saturday, November 12th, 2022
Time; 7 pm ET
The best NCAAF Vegas odds setters have Mississippi at -106 on the handicap with a +16.5 points start. From the same amount of points deficit, the Georgia Bulldogs are -114. The Total Points spread is set at 54. Over 54 is -110, and under 54 is also -110.
Last weekend Georgia defeated Tennessee to confirm that they are currently the best college football side in the country. At the same time, Mississippi needed overtime to see off Auburn.
Yes, the Davis Wade Stadium will be rocking, but for my betting pick, I’m going for Georgia to win on the handicap. Kirby Smart’s team is rarely this short on the handicap, and I think it has to be snapped up.
