March Madness 2025 is down to the Final Four teams, and in a very rare occurrence, each of those teams entered March Madness as a No. 1 seed. This year marks the first time all four No. 1 seeds have made it to the Final Four since 2008, and only the second time in history.
The remaining teams are Duke, Florida, Houston, and Auburn. The final four matchups, which take place on Saturday, April 5 pit Auburn against Florida and Houston vs. Duke. The winning clubs move on to the National Championship game, which takes place on Monday, April 7, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Florida (34-4) has beaten Norfolk St., UConn, Maryland, and Texas Tech to make it to the Final Four. The Gators are a deep and talented team. In fact, they might be the deepest team of the squads who are still standing. Florida excels in offensive rebounding at 39 percent. However, the team has the most turnovers of the Final Four clubs. The Gators need to limit the turnovers if they hope to win the 2025 National Championship.
Walter Clayton Jr. has put up great numbers during March Madness, hitting 22 points or more in four of the five games the Gators have played.
The Auburn Tigers have never won a National Championship. The school has played in the Final Four once before this year, falling to the Virginia Cavaliers in 2019 by a score of 63-62. The team was a No. 5 seed that year.
Auburn (32-5) topped Alabama State, Creighton, Michigan, and Michigan State to make it to the Final Four. One could argue that Auburn has had the toughest schedule to make it to the Final Four. Things do not get any easier for the Tigers as they are matched up against Florida, who beat them 90-81 in February.
There are worries about Auburn’s defense. The team struggled at the end of the season, losing three of four games to close things out. However, the team got back on track for its March Madness run. That defense and limiting turnovers will be the most important aspects of Auburn’s game.
One of the most accomplished programs in college basketball, the Duke Blue Devils have won five national championships but none since 2015. The school has played in the Final Four 18 times, moving on to the championship game 11 times. The last time Duke played in the Final Four was in 2022 when they lost to eight-seed North Carolina as a No. 2 seed, 81-77.
Duke (35-3) earned its spot in the Final Four with wins over Mount St. Marys, Baylor, Arizona, and Alabama. Duke dominated those games, wrapping up its Elite Eight matchup opposite the Crimson Tide with an 85-65 win. Alabama was the No. 2 seed.
While Cooper Flagg has earned most of the attention from this team, he has gotten help from other top Blue Devils players, Khaman Maluach and Kon Knueppel. That’s not to say the team isn’t deep; it is. The Blue Devils are excellent on offense and defense and have no glaring weaknesses to exploit. In short, the Blue Devils will be a difficult team to beat.
Houston (34-4) defeated SIU Edwardsville, Gonzaga, Purdue, and Tennessee on the road to the Final Four. Defense has been the key to Houston getting this far in the 2025 edition of March Madness, but a team doesn’t win games on defense alone. With that in mind, one needs to look at Houston’s ability to hit three-point shots. The team is close to 40 percent from deep, and the starters are hitting 42 percent or better on their three-pointers. The club hit five three-pointers in the closing 5:30 of their 69-50 win over Tennessee in the Elite Eight matchup.
Houston has not lost since they fell to Texas Tech in overtime (82-81) in early February. In fact, three of the team’s four losses were in OT. Meaning, the opposition needs to be at their best if they hope to defeat the Cougars.
No team is as talented as the Duke Blue Devils among the Final Four squads. There isn’t a great deal of betting value on Duke to win, but they will.
