With October almost here, the Dodgers keep holding onto the No. 1 World Series odds, and their fans are incredibly excited. Earlier in the year, the New York Yankees looked to be the favorites to win it all, as Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gleyber Torres, and others had the team playing so well. Things have changed in a big way, though, as NY has lowered its chances.
The same can’t be said for the Dodgers, though. As things stand, they hold the top MLB betting odds to win it all, as they’ve been placed at +290. Behind them in terms of World Series betting odds are the Houston Astros, New York Mets, and then the New York Yankees at No. 4 at +550. The fact that the Yankees have dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 is rough to see.

This was supposed to be the year the Yankees end their long streak of not winning the World Series, but it feels like a long shot that they’re going to get the job done. The same can’t be said for the Dodgers, as this is an exciting team to watch. With strong hitting and pitching, the Dodgers have what it takes to win their second World Series in the past three years.

Yes, the Dodgers have what it takes to get the job done, but Dusty Baker, a future Hall of Famer, has his team playing unreal baseball like usual. Every season, Houston seems like it’s poised to win it all. Last year they suffered the heartbreaking loss to the Atlanta Braves with the title on the line, but we feel they’ll be able to bounce back.
What helps Houston is they’re the favorites to win the American League and get back to the World Series. The expectation is that they’ll meet the Yankees in the ALCS. That’d be a dream series, but the Astros have recently owned NY’s number. While this would be a fun series, we’d fully believe that the Astros would end the Yankees’ season again.
The confidence level for the Astros is also high, as they just snagged up the AL West title. Now, Baker is ready for his guys to take things into new gear once the playoffs arrive. This team should cruise in the early rounds and then be ready to make a splash in the World Series. What will happen if the Astros and Dodgers meet in the final series later this year?
That’d make folks happy, as these two teams are evenly lined up. The Dodgers would be the favorites to win it all over Houston, but we’re going to stick with our guns and rock with the Astros. They know what it takes to come out on top and silence their haters. With Baker as manager, they’re simply an easy team to root for.
A question plenty of fans have on their minds is can the Yankees go on a World Series run? As we mentioned above, the Yankees now hold the No. 4 odds for the World Series, which is downright unreal, especially considering how stacked this lineup is. Judge has played like the best baseball guy this year, reaching 60 home runs. That’s historic.
Despite that, the rest of the lineup has sputtered, and Aaron Boone has been left scratching his head countless times. The fanbase is frustrated with the team, and understandably so. It’s been a rough stretch of years without winning it all. An AL East crown is nice, but this team is built for more success. Three months ago, NY looked primed for a memorable year.
Things have changed since, though, and now everything is up in the air for them. It’d be a shock if the guys put everything together to go on a World Series run. If you ask us – don’t bet on the Yankees. Go with the Astros or Dodgers instead.
