Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more interesting over in New York, the Mets have turned plenty of heads with their strong play this season. Matter of fact, the Mets odds have skyrocketed to win the National League this year, as they currently hold the No. 2 odds to get back to the World Series. So, will the team from Queens be able to get the job done and stun the Dodgers and others?
It goes without saying, but Mets fans are believing in this team once again. With guys like Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Max Scherzer and others playing so well, it’s no surprise that the Mets have the No. 2 MLB odds in terms of winning the National League. Right now, the Dodgers are the favorite to win the NL at +220, while the Mets have been placed at +350 by the best-rated sportsbooks.
This tells you that this figures to be quite the battle should these two teams move on to meet in the NL Championship Series. There’s still a ton of time to go before we get to the playoffs, however, with both teams still needing to work on some stuff before we get there. Having said that, it’d be a shock if the two clubs didn’t go on to win their divisions.

With the Mets, not many people were giving them much of a chance to win the NL East entering the year. Everyone thought the Atlanta Braves, who won the World Series last year, would go on to grab the division title. Instead, the Mets have been outstanding thus far this season and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. It’s been a lot of fun to watch.
With that, things are only going to get better for fans this summer when they go to Citi Field over in Flushing. With the stadium hosting some big games and providing awesome food choices, NY will look to record a ton of wins. Come to the playoffs, will the Mets end up stunning the world by winning the National League and then moving on to win the World Series?
Unfortunately for all of you Mets fans out there, the Dodgers remain our pick to win the NL this season. Los Angeles looks fantastic and if it weren’t for the NY Yankees being in the middle of an unreal campaign, everyone would be placing MLB bets on the Dodgers to run away with the World Series crown. Seriously, that’s how good they’ve been this year and they won’t slow down.
The biggest thing with the Dodgers will be the health of Clayton Kershaw and the starting rotation later on in the season. Kershaw is one of the best pitchers in the game and he’ll be needed to record more and more outstanding performances under pressure. Once the playoffs get here, fans everywhere will be ready to see what he can accomplish.
On top of that, all eyes will be on Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and more. Those sluggers are fantastic up at the dish and the team’s supporters will never get tired of them hitting some timely homers. If LA and the Mets meet in the playoffs, the Dodgers would 100 per cent be the favorites leading up the series and rightfully so.
The Mets may be playing hot right now, but until they can prove that they can get to the postseason, but clutch up themselves, then people will be racing to bet money on the Dodgers. If the Mets were somehow able to pull off an NLCS win, you already know MLB fans would love another ‘Subway Series’ to arrive. This would match up the Mets and Yankees with the title on the line. We haven’t seen the Subway Series since 2000. That season, the Yankees dominated the Mets and recorded a 4-1 World Series victory. People still talk about that one.
Looking ahead to this year, the Yankees are the favorites to win the AL, while the Mets will be in the hunt in the NL. Can you imagine how rocking New York would be if this were to go down? The city that never sleeps would somehow get even more electric. Only time will tell if that somehow happens, but these two clubs will be fun to watch the rest of the way.
For the Yankees, they’re the best team in baseball right now and they’re hoping they can get back to the World Series. As we’ve said in previous pieces, Aaron Boone’s club is our pick to win the American League. Not only that, they’re also our pick to win the World Series. It’d be a great accomplishment for this team, especially Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
