Here we are in the second part of the Major League Baseball season and we’re seeing some teams step things up to a new level. This of course includes the Los Angeles Dodgers. On the other hand, the New York Yankees are looking a bit worse than originally expected. With this, the Dodgers are new MLB World Series favorites to win it all. Will LA get the job done?
LA Dodgers holding the No. 1 odds isn’t much of a surprise
It goes without saying, but the LA Dodgers holding the No. 1 odds isn’t much of a surprise, as the team has been nothing short of sensational this year. LA, who won the World Series two seasons ago, has only gotten stronger after improving both the lineup and its rotation. With the lineup, you’ve got to remember that the addition of Freddie Freeman has been monstrous for the club.
Freeman, one of the best first baseman out there, has already become a fan favorite in LA. Not only that, but Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner and others have fans believing about the team winning yet another World Series. If Clayton Kershaw can stay healthy too, then this team will truly be one to watch the rest of the way. They really are a strong unit.
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, the Dodgers hold the top MLB odds at +350. With the World Series coming this fall, LA already has plenty of confidence. Other teams in the mix include the Yankees, Astros, Mets, Braves and Padres. From the American League, the Yankees are of course going to be a force for a while, as they hold +380 World Series odds for 2022.
Imagine if the Yankees and Dodgers were to meet in the World Series? It’d be amazing to see, with the Dodgers expected to be the ones to come out on top. However, New York still believes that they’ll be able to end their WS streak and bring home the glory. Plenty of people are riding with the Dodgers. For us, though, we’re sticking to our guns and going in a different direction.
The Yankees remain our pick to win the World Series
While the Dodgers may be feeling good right now, the Yankees remain our pick to win the World Series in 2022. Why, you ask? For starters, we can’t stop talking about the strong play of Aaron Judge. Judge is the front-runner to win AL MVP and he’s our pick to take home that award. That’d be well deserved, as Judge is looking like one of the best players in the game.
Judge has showcased incredible power throughout the year, and he’s a threat to hit a home run whenever he’s up at the dish. With Judge expected to finish the season with the most homers in the league, it’s only going to strengthen his chances of winning MVP. If Judge does win MVP, then it’s only going to be massive for the Yankees in their World Series hopes.
On top of Judge, you can’t forget the outstanding play of Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo and others. In terms of pitching, there will be a ton of pressure on Gerrit Cole. Cole hasn’t lived up to his massive contract, which has been rough. In order for Cole to silence his doubters, he’s got to have a strong rest of the regular season and then dominate in the postseason.
With Cole being one of the top pitchers in the game, he can’t slow down later in the year. If that does happen, it will be a disaster for the Yankees to try and win it all. From our chair, we don’t think that’s going to end up happening, as we’re going with the Yankees as our pick to win the World Series. Agree? If so, check out our MLB betting sites, which includes Bovada, and place a wager.
While the Yankees and Dodgers are getting a ton of attention right now, don’t sleep on the New York Mets either this fall. Out of nowhere, the Mets have become one of the top teams in the National League. If it wasn’t for the Dodgers, then the Mets would be considered the top team in the NL right now. With the Mets, their superstars are rising to the occasion.
On top of that, is there a more exciting closer in the game than Edwin Diaz. Diaz has easily the best walk-up song in the game, as his clips continue to go viral all over social media. Diaz, a former member of the Seattle Mariners, has won over everyone in Queens and nothing is going to change in that department. While yes we are going with the Yankees to win the World Series, the Mets could end up being a sleeper pick as well.
