These artists are still producing new music and have the potential to tour nationally, but they opt for extended residencies on the Las Vegas Strip.
Many of these shows run intermittently to allow the artists to tour, record new music, or appear on music-related reality shows.
The second type includes modern nostalgia acts that appeal more to fans’ memories than current trends. This category contains acts like Boys II Men, The Killers, Carlos Santana, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, and Shania Twain.
While some of these artists still release new music, their ticket sales are primarily driven by nostalgia rather than current hits.
The third type is unique to Las Vegas: legendary performers who evoke the city’s old-school charm.
These acts are increasingly rare. Notable examples include Wayne Newton and Donny Osmond, who have residencies at Caesars Entertainment’s Flamingo and Harrah’s, respectively.
One more name stands out in this category: Barry Manilow. He has just extended his off-Strip residency for another year.
Though Manilow calls Las Vegas his musical home, he also maintains a residency at Radio City Music Hall and is embarking on a tour dubbed “The Last Concerts,” which he promotes as the final opportunity to see him perform in each city.

Barry Manilow may be wrapping up his touring days, but he seems committed to performing in Las Vegas indefinitely.
Manilow has extended his historic residency at Westgate’s International Theater through 2025, with a new series of shows kicking off on Valentine’s Day weekend.
“Manilow has announced an entire year of performances beginning Feb. 13-15, running Thursdays-Fridays-Saturdays each month (except July) through Dec. 11-13. That’s 48 dates in all.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that tickets will be on sale at the WestgateResorts.com website at 10 a.m. Pacific time on July 19.
At 81, Manilow surpassed Elvis Presley’s record for Las Vegas residency shows last September and has humorously remarked about performing at Westgate until he’s 100. “The Westgate in Las Vegas has become my second home.
I am thrilled I will continue to perform my hits for the fans in such an iconic theater and property,” he shared on the resort’s website.
When Manilow isn’t headlining at the International Theater, the venue hosts a variety of other acts, including multiple Elvis tribute shows and Kool and the Gang.
With over 85 million albums sold and 50 top 40 hits, Manilow remains the marquee performer for this off-Strip property, showing no signs of slowing down.

Neon Museum
On Wednesday, the famed Neon Museum announced that it will be relocating to the Arts District in downtown Las Vegas.
According to a news release, the museum plans to nearly triple the size of its current location as part of this move. The museum will be considering two potential sites.
The first site is a 60,000-square-foot outdoor display space with an additional 47,000 square feet for an indoor area on the ninth and tenth floors of a proposed parking garage. The second site, a short walk away, offers 35,000 square feet of programmable space.
“Neon is Las Vegas’ native art form, and the Neon Museum is an iconic attraction. We are excited that the museum will soon be a part of our vibrant 18B Las Vegas Arts District,” said Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman regarding the relocation plans.
Founded in 1996, the Neon Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying, and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historical, artistic, and cultural enrichment. It received accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums three years ago.
The museum’s current 2.27-acre campus features an outdoor exhibition space, the Neon Boneyard, the North Gallery, which houses the immersive audiovisual experience “Brilliant!”
It uses technology to re-illuminate more than 40 non-operational signs and a visitor center in the former La Concha Motel lobby.
The collection also includes 14 restored signs displayed as public art in downtown Las Vegas.
Farewell to The Mirage
After nearly 35 years on the Las Vegas Strip, Wednesday marks the end of the Mirage as we know it.
The resort will close its doors for good at 11 a.m. to make way for planned renovations and the construction of a giant, guitar-shaped hotel tower on the site.
Hard Rock International, which plans to build the guitar-shaped hotel, purchased the operating rights from MGM and took over operations of the Mirage in December 2022.
Opened on November 22, 1989, the Mirage has been widely acknowledged as a game-changer for the Las Vegas resort scene. The brainchild of casino mogul Steve Wynn is still considered the Strip’s first mega-resort.
Over the years, the Mirage hosted some of the most iconic entertainment in the World Entertainment Capital, including the tiger-taming magicians Siegfried & Roy. The property’s theater was the site of the infamous attack that left Roy Horn maimed on October 3, 2003.
The Mirage will also always be remembered for the fiery excitement of its volcano show, which drew crowds along Las Vegas Boulevard with guaranteed eruptions every night.
