Las Vegas Strip headliners often extend their residencies for weeks, months, and sometimes years before concluding their engagements.
Katy Perry, an original headliner at Resorts World Las Vegas, opened her “Play” residency on December 29, 2021 and closed it after 80 shows on November 4, 2023.
Rock star Rod Stewart, who has been performing at the Colosseum at Caesars since 2011, will end his residency after 200 shows on August 7, 2024.

U2’s residency at the Las Vegas Sphere began with great excitement on September 29, 2023, with music legends like Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Katy Perry attending the first show.
Originally planned for 25 shows, U2 expanded their residency to 40 due to high demand. The band’s final performances are scheduled for March 1-2 after five months of shows.
Ticket demand has been high, with resale tickets on Ticketmaster’s website priced around $1,073 for March 1 and $1,001 for March 2.
Following U2, Phish will perform four shows on April 18, 19, 20, and 21 at the Sphere. Tickets for the first three shows are sold out, with a few remaining for April 21 at approximately $764.
Dead & Company, featuring Grateful Dead members, will perform their “Dead Forever – Live at Sphere” residency from May 16 to June 22, consisting of 18 shows over six weeks.
Tickets for most shows are nearly sold out, with remaining tickets priced at around $275 each on Ticketmaster for select dates.
Purchasing tickets for Las Vegas Strip residencies well in advance during presale or general sale ensures a seat at the original, lower ticket price.
However, once these popular shows sell out, fans often turn to the secondary market and ticket brokers, who charge steep premiums.
Disappointment can arise if a headliner postpones or cancels a performance.

This acclaimed engagement, featuring her biggest hits and classics from the Great American Songbook, ran from December 28, 2018, to May 1, 2022, at Dolby Live’s predecessor, the Park Theater at the Park MGM.

Returning to the stage, Lady Gaga presented a variation of her previous residency with the 12-show “Jazz + Piano” residency at MGM Resorts International’s Dolby Live at the Park MGM.
