The 2024 US Open golf championship gets underway from Pinehurst on Thursday. Scottie Scheffler again leads the betting. The World No.1 is as short as +270 with one sportsbook to win this weekend. Scheffler already has the Masters in the bag in 2024. Can he add the US Open as well? We tell you the answer and name our best bets in our latest golf betting picks.

The Course
The 124th edition of the US Open is being played on the world-famous Pinehurst No.2 course in North Carolina. Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1907, the course has undergone plenty of renovations and upgrades in the proceeding years.
One such upgrade was implemented by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw ahead of the 2014 US Open when they tried to restore the course as close as they possibly could to the original design. In doing so, the duo widened the fairways by as much as 50% in places and removed all the rough, replacing it with sandy areas and wiregrass.
At just over 7550 yards, the course is one of the longest layouts on the PGA Tour in 2024. But with firm fairways, expect tee-shot rollouts to be extensive for those who find the fairways.
Betting to win the 2024 US Open
Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win the 2024 US Open at best odds of +335. He is just +270 to win with BetUS, but thankfully, we have found better odds on the World No.1 winning his second major of the season this week.
More US Open betting is available on our betting table below. All our odds are from the best online golf betting sites.
Scottie Scheffler is the man of the moment yet again. On Sunday, the World No.1 won yet another event, the Memorial Tournament from Muirfield Village.
In fairness, it wasn’t vintage Scheffler as he struggled in his final round, carding a two-over par finish to win the competition on -8, ahead of Collin Morikawa (-7) by just one shot.
Nevertheless, a win is a win, and it was his fifth victory this year. As a result, Scheffler is just +335 to win the tournament in the latest US Open golf odds. Not since the days of domination from Tiger Woods have we seen odds this short on a major winner.
Scheffler is an obvious pick to win in his current form. His odds may be a bit too short. So we are going to leave him. But it is perfectly understandable if anyone backs him in to win on his current streak of results.
The LIV contingent
Yes, with this being a major championship, the LIV players are permitted to play. As a result, joining Scheffler, McIlroy, and company will be Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith, and of course 2021 champion, Jon Rahm.
Fresh from his second-place finish at the US PGA Championship, Bryson DeChambeau is the shortest-price LIV player at +1800. DeChambeau is having a revitalized 2024, looking trimmer while retaining his ferocious hitting power.
The 2020 US Open winner also scored an impressive T6 finish at the Masters in April. However, it is worth noting that he finished a mammoth nine shots behind winner Scottie Scheffler.
After an impressive 2023, which included a victory at the PGA and a T2 at the Masters, Brooks Koepka looks slightly off the pace this year. Kopeka is +2500 to win. Put that up against DeChambeau at +1800, and it’s obvious where the better value lies.
Out of the LIV golfers, Bryson DeChambeau looks the best bet.
Rory McIlroy +1400
The facts are Rory hasn’t won a major since 2014. That is a long time without a big win for a guy of his ability.
He is well able to win this weekend. But there is no form to speak of and we are giving him a miss.
Our 2024 US Open Picks and Predictions
We’ve already mentioned Bryson DeChambeau, and we wouldn’t be against backing him to win the title. He is in good form. For our pick, we are backing DeChambeau to finish in the top five at +425.
For our sleeper bets, we are having a small wager on Tommy Fleetwood to finish in the top five at +600. He is +4500 to win with BetOnline. We also like the look of Viktor Hovland winning and are having a small bet on him at +2200.
For our main pick to win, we are going with Collin Morikawa. His name has been frequently at the top of leaderboards all season, and he comes into the week in good form having finished second to Scheffler at the Memorial Tournament on Sunday.
Morikaka’s recent form reads 2, 4, T4, T16. In the Masters he was T3, and the T4 in his recent form was in the PGA Championship. He has been consistently knocking on the door this year.
Collin Morikaka (+1600) is our pick to win the 2024 US Open.
