Overall, the Knicks are 3-1 SU in their last four meetings with the Nuggets. However, when the locale for these games is the Mile High City, the Knicks tend to end up finishing the night six feet under.
New York is 1-15 SU at Denver since 2007 in the NBA picks. However, that one win is a recent memory. The Knicks were 106-103 winners at Denver on November 16, 2022.
The Knicks are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 visits to Denver. Three of the past four games between the two teams have gone under on the total.
Overall, New York is 4-1 SU in the club’s past five games. Four of New York’s last six games have gone over. As well, seven of the past 10 road games played by the Knicks have gone over, as have six of their past eight games facing a Western Conference opponent.
Betting the over in games involving the Nuggets is also proving to be a winning wager of late. All six of of the last six games played by Denver at home have gone over. In all games, the over has hit 10 times in the last 13 games played by the Nuggets. The over is also seven-for-seven in Denver’s last seven games against clubs from the Eastern Conference of the NBA.
Denver is 4-2 ATS in the last six games as the betting favorite when facing the Knicks. The Nuggets are also 7-0 SU in their last seven meetings with squads from the NBA East.
Denver center Nikola Jokic is the reigning NBA MVP. He’s also won the award three times over the past four seasons. Based on his start to the 2024-25 season, he appears to be on a mission to make it four out of five.
The massive Serbian is currently displaying a season-long triple double in his stat line. Jokic is leading the Nuggets with per-game averages of 30.3 points, 13.9 rebounds and 11.3 assists.
As dominant has Jokic has been in recent seasons while earning the title as the best player in the world, he’s on pace for a career year this season. He’s leading the NBA in rebounds and assists per game, as well as 3-point percentage, shooting 56.4% from beyond the arc. He’s also fourth in points per game and third in deflections per game.
Returning on Saturday from a three-game absence due to personal reasons, Jokic poured in 34 points during a 127-102 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers.
While the Nuggets are delighted to have Jokic back on the floor, there’s concern whether the Knicks will have their No. 1 big man in the lineup for this game. Center Karl-Anthony Towns is listed as questionable due to a calf injury.
Towns is leading the Knicks in points (26.1) and rebounds (12.5) per game this season, his first in New York. This month, Towns is averaging 27.4 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 33.9 minutes per game. He’s shooting 52.1%. He’s also well-schooled in dealing with Jokic from his days with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
New York is definitely without center Mitchell Robinson (ankle), so having any length to try and combat Jokic could prove to be an issue for the Knicks. Jericho Sims will be picking up minutes if Towns is slowed.
Under normal circumstances, it would be hard to bet the Knicks in the NBA picks for this game. While in terms of record, there doesn’t seem to be much difference between New York (9-7) and Denver (9-6), in Denver, there’s been plenty of difference.
And that doesn’t even take into account a refired Jokic facing an ailing Towns. Bet Denver to win outright in the Monday Vegas NBA picks.
