50 Cent to earn $15 Million for Residency
The G-Unit mogul has solidified his position as one of the highest-earning hip-hop artists with The Final Lap 2023 tour.
This tour achieved remarkable success, selling over a million tickets across 83 shows worldwide and surpassing $100 million in earnings. He is now only the second rapper, after Drake, to achieve this financial milestone.
The upcoming Vegas residency is expected to surpass the tour’s earnings on a per-show basis. According to TMZ, 50 Cent is set to earn $15 million for the six shows, potentially making it the biggest hip-hop residency in Vegas. Additionally, his premium champagne and cognac brand, Sire Spirits, will present the New Year’s Eve show.
It’s exciting to see major hip-hop and rap stars finally signing on for residencies on the Las Vegas Strip after a long absence of headliner shows. Even off the Strip, it was hard to find shows featuring top rappers and hip-hop acts.

History of Hip-Hop and Rap Vegas Residencies
Wu-Tang Clan made history by performing Sin City’s first hip-hop residency at the Theater at Virgin Hotels for four shows over February and March 2024.
The Lovers & Friends Festival, the most popular hip-hop show in Vegas in 2023, featured top hip-hop artists such as 50 Cent, Pitbull, Busta Rhymes, and Master P & No Limit Soldiers.
However, fans were disappointed when the festival was canceled on the night before the event in May 2024 due to the threat of dangerous weather.
In July 2024, hip-hop finally made its breakthrough to the Strip as Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino hosted its first major hip-hop residency.
The legendary New York hip-hop stars Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh joined DJ Cassidy for his “Pass the Mic Live” residency, performing six shows.
The most significant rap solo residency to launch on the Strip was the rare dual residency of superstar rapper Lil Wayne at rival casinos.
He performed at Drai’s Nightclub in Caesars Entertainment’s The Cromwell on June 29 and at Zouk Las Vegas in Genting Group’s Resorts World Las Vegas on July 12.
Furthermore, legendary hip-hop artist Nas delivered sold-out shows during his residency in the Encore Theater at the Wynn Resort on Aug. 29, 31, and Sept. 1, accompanied by the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
The residency commemorated the 30th anniversary of the superstar’s groundbreaking “Illmatic” album, released in April 1994.
Nas is set to return to his classic Las Vegas Strip residency at the Encore Theater, once again joined by the Las Vegas Philharmonic, for three more shows on Feb. 5, 7, and 8 in 2025.
