Superstar rapper Lil Wayne is set to headline a rare dual residency at rival casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.
He will kick off his performances at Drai’s Nightclub in Caesars Entertainment’s The Cromwell on June 29 with an 11:30 p.m. show. He will resume the residency on July 12 at 10:30 p.m. at Zouk Las Vegas in Genting Group’s Resorts World Las Vegas.
Additional shows have yet to be announced. According to a statement from Resorts World, this residency structure is a first for both The Cromwell and Resorts World.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Lil Wayne to Zouk Las Vegas,” said Zouk Vice President Joe Lopez. “His dynamic performances and legendary status make him the perfect artist to launch this transformative residency. We look forward to providing an unparalleled nightlife experience for all to enjoy this monumental artist.”
Dustin Drai, President of Drai’s Management Group, is also enthusiastic about welcoming Lil Wayne back to Drai’s Nightclub.
Lil Wayne was slated to perform on May 4 at the 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, but the festival was canceled due to high winds. Instead, the iconic rapper performed a surprise concert on May 4 at Drai’s Nightclub.
“We cannot wait to continue our longstanding relationship with Lil Wayne and have him return as a resident artist at Drai’s,” Drai said. “We could not align with a more dynamic artist to welcome this debut residency partnership.”
Tickets and table reservations for Lil Wayne’s shows are available at the respective nightclubs or their websites, Zoukgrouplv.com or Draisgroup.com.
Caesars strong 2024 performance
While business on the Las Vegas Strip has cooled somewhat after hosting major events like an F1 race and the Super Bowl, COO Anthony Carano discussed the company’s performance during its first-quarter earnings call.
“There were several bright spots during the quarter,” Carano shared, “including record Q1 occupancy in Las Vegas driven by strong visitation, 23% growth in online sports gaming net revenue, 54% growth in iCasino net gaming revenue in our digital segment, and sequential improvement in operating results in our regional segment each month during Q1.”
The company had an outstanding quarter for room occupancy on the Strip.
“Occupancy in Q1 reached 97.6%, setting a new Q1 record,” he noted. “This high occupancy also led to record Q1 cash hotel and food and beverage revenues during the quarter.”
