The 2024 MotoGP season takes a bit of a break after the seventh race of the 2024 season. Now, an unexpected break had us scrambling a little. Yes, Francesco Bagnaia swept Italy as Factory Ducati bikes went 1-2 last Sunday at home, basically. So, Bagnaia finds himself second in the standings (18 points behind Jorge Martin). Again, Italy pulls things closer but what about some 2024 MotoGP Title Picks?
So, numbers tilted a little back to a familiar face after the exciting Italian weekend. We wait for what figures to be a strange run of races (Netherlands, Germany, then another break). Does the back and forth truly begin now? Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Pedro Acosta could have a say here. In the meantime, do not forget these Vegas betting site bonuses, as the break is here. Okay, cue up the MotoGP online betting odds:

The 2024 MotoGP Title Picks saw and old friend show us last weekend. While the Italian course at Mugello is still an Italian playground, now does the real race for the title begin? Francesco Bagnaia narrowed the gap to Jorge Martin to a mere 18 points. Bagnaia showed his might by winning the Sprint (he stayed upright). Then, he held off his teammate and Jorge Martin by less than a second to win the main race in Italy.
So, what did we truly learn from the first weekend in June? For one, that Factory Ducati still has the top speed on the faster courses. Does that eventually change later in the season? That always remains a possibility. However, even with the inevitable ebbs and flows, certain drivers just raise their game when it counts. There is a reason why Bagnaia is a two-time world champion.
Bettors need to watch this break in June. The postponement of Kazakhstan throws a considerable wrench even into the best of things. Unfortunately, we often have to play things by ear. Remember, there seems to be one or two of these a season now.
So, this race feels like Bagnaia and Martin will do battle for the title again. Do we even take a peak at Marc Marquez at this point? We could. Let us start with the two favorites for the title here. It feels like the most logical thing in this crazy 2024 season.
Alright, Francesco Bagnaia is still mostly on the plus side of the equation. The Italian pulled himself off the mat and swept in Italy. He totaled 37 points last week to yank himself right back up the table. Vegas Sports Betting likes that he has three wins and can still cause the others to make mistakes. The 2024 MotoGP Title picks jump on that +125 number on BetOnline. How long that will number last is the big, big question?
These numbers shortened from the +175 before the race in Italy. On the other hand, it is not rare to see Bagnaia on this side of the fence. With a few races to go in 2023, we were in the same position. The expectation is that this occurs again a couple of times during the season. MotoGP is one of the more volatile Futures in the entire betting industry. The races are that competitive.
This allows for all sorts of intriguing scenarios that do not include Bagnaia winning a third straight title. Let’s face facts. We cannot ignore the Italian here. The champion too often lends us a reminder that he is still here. He will continue to be here. Furthermore, Bagnaia leads in wins and could easily win 7-9 races still come the end of the season.
Bluntly, that +125 is still tough to disregard. However, below we look at that other contender and maybe one or two more that challenge for the throne.
2024 MotoGP Title Picks and the points leader is still Jorge Martin. With Italy in the rear view (even testing concluded the middle of last week), one must look at the Spaniard. While the Ducati rider will switch to Aprilla in 2025, right now he is still at the top of the ladder to win his first MotoGP World Title.
One of the good bits of news with the latest odds shift is this. Martin is back a little deeper into the plus money again. Funny enough, he is now +150 on BetOnline. This is in spite of carrying a lead during this break and heading into a phase where he could win at both the Aasen and at Deutschland in early July. Testing has gone particularly well for the Spaniard at the latter.
Honestly, the table shows only six riders with even a remote shot to win the 2024 title already. It feels like a two horse race at this point even though six racers have topped 100 points on the season. Again, the Sprint/Race combination can truly be an equalizer.
In Bagnaia we trust is far from foolish for MotoGP. For more potential wagers (including season head-to-head wagers), examine the BetOnline Sportsbook Review. Look for those other bets to start popping up later in June.
Finally, do not forget Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini. Marquez keeps showing his solid form and will eventually break through to win a race. The same goes for Bastianini.
