Let’s take a look at some of the favorites and best bets for the WNBA title this year.
Favorites
Las Vegas Aces
The Aces are the favorites to win the title again in 2023. They return their entire core from last season, including A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Chelsea Gray.
Wilson is one of the best players in the WNBA, and she is coming off a season in which she averaged 20.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
Plum is a dynamic scorer, and she averaged 17.8 points per game last season. Gray is a versatile point guard, and she averaged 6.4 assists per game in 2022.
They also added two-time WNBA champion Candace Parker in the offseason, which makes them even more dangerous.
The Aces already had a balanced and talented roster but now have added state-of-the-art training facilities. In short, owner Mark Davis is spending big to ensure the Aces stay on top of the league.
Becky Hammon led them to a title in her first season at the helm. She encouraged the up-tempo play that led to the Aces leading the league in points per game (90.4) and offensive rating (111.9).
Embracing a fast-paced style and emphasizing their three-point shooting, the Aces will be a tough team to overcome.
They are priced at +115 to win the title at BetOnline and I would recommend that bet.
The Liberty made significant acquisitions during the offseason, bolstering their roster with top-tier talent. They secured the services of Courtney Vandersloot, widely regarded as one of the best point guards in the history of the WNBA.
Additionally, they made a historic signing by bringing on board the legendary Breanna Stewart, which could be considered one of the most significant signings in the league’s history.
Stewart, a former MVP and two-time WNBA champion should bring championship experience to this squad.
The team’s impressive recruitment spree didn’t stop there, as they also added 2021 MVP Jonquel Jones to their already formidable lineup.
These additions should help Sabrina Ionescu continue to develop into one of the league’s premier players. Last season, she averaged 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.
The +140 price is great value for the Liberty here, implying a little better than a 40% chance to win the title. They have one of the two best rosters in the league this season so I love that bet.
I would recommend betting on the New York Liberty to win the title at +140 odds.

Longshots
Phoenix Mercury
The Mercury are another intriguing team to examine this season. The biggest addition to the team is the return of Brittney Griner.
The team struggled on defense and with rebounding last season and Griner’s return should remedy those issues. Her return is far from the only potential change in Phoenix.
Skylar Diggins-Smith announced in late 2022 that she was pregnant, which looks like will cause her to miss the start of the season.
They were able to make the playoffs for the 10th straight season last year despite not having Griner. This roster is pretty impressive: Diana Taurasi, Sophie Cunningham, Brittney Griner, and Skylar Diggins-Smith.
I like the value of +2000 odds that BetOnline is offering on the Mercury. I would recommend betting on that Mercury at that price.
The Wings have shown steady improvement over the past three seasons, with each year resulting in a better record. They secured a playoff spot for the second straight year in 2022.
However, this offseason, the Wings made several changes. They fired their head coach Vickie Johnson and hired Latricia Trammell.
The team then traded for Natasha Howard and Crystal Dangerfield. They also added Diamond DeShields to a strong team that already has Arike Ogunbowale.
Unfortunately, they had to release Isabelle Harrison and allow her to hit free agency. They also traded away a 2025 1st-round pick.
There are a lot of changes going on in the Wings organization but with odds of +3300 at BetOnline it’s worth a sprinkle.
They may make a move midseason that swings everything, that’s why it’s always good to take multiple bets when looking at future props.
