Max Holloway returns to the octagon this weekend to take on Arnold Allen in Kansas City, in what should be a thrilling main event on a stacked UFC Fight Night card.

Despite coming off the back of a third loss to reigning UFC Featherweight Champion, Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway is the favorite to end the impressive winning streak of Arnold Allen.
Holloway holds a record of 23-7-0 and comes in as the -190 favorite to pick up the victory on Saturday night, while Allen holds an impressive record of 19-1-0, yet still comes in as the +165 underdog.
Allen is undefeated since joining the UFC in 2015, with his most recent victory coming against Calvin Kattar in October. Now the British fighter will look to add the most impressive name yet to his resume of wins in the form of Holloway. Allen is a well-rounded fighter, showing both his striking and grappling skills in his recent victory over Calvin Kattar, before the bout was stopped prematurely due to Kattar’s knee injury.
Allen will have to be at the top of his game, as he faces arguably the most dangerous fighter in the featherweight division, apart from the champ Volkanovski. Holloway is regarded as one of the best strikers in the UFC, and the former featherweight champion has one eye on the lightweight division.
Speaking to ESPN about a potential return to the 155lbs division, Holloway said “For this next fight [after Allen], no, but it’s always tempting to go there. You got killers up there and those fights excite me. We just see what happens. It’s always great to go up a weight class when you got a belt around your waist so we’ll see what happens. Never say never. We’ll see what cards we get and we’ll go from there.”

In the co-main event of the evening, legendary finisher Edson Barboza will take on Billy Quarantillo, who has his eye on a position in the featherweight rankings. Quarantillo will put the pressure on Barboza, who will find it difficult to deal with the pace and intensity set by the American.
Barboza’s chances of earning a featherweight title shot may have come and gone. At the age of 37, and coming off the back of two defeats, it looks like the sun may be setting on the Brazilian’s illustrious career.
Quarantillo has made a name for himself over the past number of years, and is looking to break into the UFC featherweight rankings with a victory on Saturday night. He posts an impressive 17-4-0 record, with his most recent bout ending in a second round stoppage of Alexander Hernandez.
Barboza does have an advantage in experience. The Brazilian has fought the best of the best in the division, and holds a record of 22-11-0. Barboza has found victories hard to come by recently, losing five of his last seven outings, with his last fight ending in a unanimous decision loss to Bryce Mitchell.
The oddsmakers have made Quarantillo the -170 favorite for this one, with Barboza coming in as the +150 underdog. Quarantillo’s constant pressure could well prove too much for Barboza, as he’s our pick.
