The James Bond betting choices keep circling well into 2023. It remains hard to believe that the studio has not named a new Bond. However, part of the problem may be Bond has become “a hot potato” of sorts. Rumors certain actors would accept the role only to refuse to seem to grow. The latest was Taron Egerton. He felt a bit too portly to carry on with such a commitment. Bond is physical and statuesque in the truest sense.
Going back in time, the last movie, “No Time To Die” premiered in London 18 months ago. The 25th Bond film wrapped up production earlier in 2021, so the rumors have been swirling for a long time. It was the fifth and final movie Daniel Craig would portray 007. So, it had been known since 2016 a new leading actor would be needed. Yet, Universal Pictures and Eon Productions have dragged their feet.
Now, this is where things get a little interesting. As always, a slew of actors is in contention for the role. This requires a huge commitment. Think about it. Daniel Craig played the role five times over 15 years. It seems a new deal would be in the three to the five-film range. With COVID more manageable, a decision may come so a 26th film can begin production.
James Bond betting choices focus on a few of these questions. Who is going to win the role? Could someone steal the thunder from favorites like Johnson, Cavill, and Elba? Here at VegasBetting, our new Bond options lie below, and maybe a possible long shot or two.
So, Henry Cavill makes the most sense for the new Bond role. One never truly can count out other actors, but Cavill stands out regarding James Bond betting choices. Moviegoers remember his performance in “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” (2015). He also co-starred in Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018). Cavill excelled in several “spy film” roles and has expressed undying interest in taking on the title of new James Bond.
Now, the quirky thing is that all the avenues seem to be opening for Cavill. With his three seasons done on The Witcher, the British actor is open for a new commitment. Again, timing is everything. He is almost 40 years old and could easily thrive despite the role’s demands.
Alas, it is difficult to ignore the sense that this all makes. Every time the production company or Universal Pictures tries to pivot somewhere else, all things seem to point back to Cavill. At one juncture, Universal pondered the former “Superman” actor as a villain in the upcoming Bond movie to be. When actors like Egerton and others fell through, it seemed like production and the studio were back to square one.
Back in December, Cavill had edged out as a favorite. On the other hand, Aaron Taylor Johnson is now the top option in the odds. Sometimes it defies explanation. The outlook hoped for some somewhat longer numbers, and yet the movement has not been quite enough. However, +250 is not too bad considering some +125 to +150 ranges in 2022. Cavill still looks to be our man here.
The James Bond betting choices are getting sucked in by Aaron Taylor-Johnson being in the mix. Johnson went from a distant alternative to a slight favorite in the past year. Again, the love affair for British actors knows no bounds. Taylor-Johnson is 33 and again fits this image of a Bond. There are those best-dressed man awards from GQ, etc. Also, it does not hurt that he has appeared in films like Bullet Train, Kick-Ass 1 and 2, and a few Marvel movies too.
Now, what does this mean in the grand scheme of things? The rumors have persisted for some time about Taylor-Johnson and the Bond role. Some of these started just before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the search for the next Bond has felt more like a movie than Bond movies themselves.
Yes, this figures to become a little complicated. Johnson remains in production for The Fall Guy and Nosferatu. Both of these movies would not come out until 2024 at the earliest. Both are currently filming as well. The British actor could not take on a third role, especially Bond, right?
For the James Bond Betting Choices, picking Taylor-Johnson seems like a not-so-hot idea, given how little value there appears.
There are some James Bond betting choices and longer shots. Idris Elba (+1200), who had been a contender for years, all but debunked the rumors a couple of weeks ago. Again, is that a smokescreen? No one knows.
Mybookie online sportsbooks gave us a few hints when Cavill shortened to +250 there. However, James Norton was in that range too. Tom Hardy lurks at +1000 but Aiden Turner still could be one to look at around +2000 or so. Turner fits in the role of Jamie Bell (+3100), who both have versatility on stage, screen, and lots of action. Henry Cavill remains our front runner, but always look for ones long in the tooth.
