This is what Las Vegas is all about! Over the weekend, a sports fan from Illinois was in town to take in the betting action and he decided to fire up a bet that needed a miracle to come through. As luck would have it, the Las Vegas tourist won $2.8 million with a wild NFL parlay in Week 15, and people can’t believe it.
The man, since identified as Marco Piemonte, put down a five-team parlay that felt like a massive long shot to come through for him. He put around $30,000 on the bet, with the possibility of winning a little under $2.9 million. Piemonte is no stranger to making these parlays, as he’s come out on top of bets worth millions in the past. Where does he find the luck to have this happen to him more than once?
With this particular parlay that he recorded, he bet the Vikings, Browns, and Raiders moneylines, while also taking the Dolphins to cover + 7 and the Jacksonville Jaguars to cover +4, respectively. The Vikings were the biggest surprise: they were down 30-0 at one point vs. the Colts. They came back to win. The Jaguars also stunned the Cowboys on Sunday, which no one saw coming.
With the Raiders, they beat the Patriots on the last play of the game, with New England attempting several laterals to try and win it, but Chandler Jones got his paws on the pigskin and took the ball all the way back for the walk-off win. All of this results in Piemonte’s incredible payday, which will surely be discussed all over Vegas for years to come.
Local Vegas sportsbooks were busy as a whole for Week 15
Piemonte wasn’t the only big-time winner in the area, as Local Vegas sportsbooks were bust as a wholefor Week15, and they came out on top with big revenues thanks to some big-time upsets. The Jaguar’s win over the Cowboys sure was a stunner and it has shaken things up both in the NFC and the AFC. Jacksonville is feeling great after the mind-blowing result.
Dallas was considered a big-time favorite, which led to a lot of people putting down plenty of money on Dak Prescott and Co. to get the job done. The NFL betting odds no question favored the Dallas Cowboys, with the sportsbooks, including the reliable Bovada review, expecting them to cruise. Trevor Lawrence and Co. had other ideas.
Not only that, but many people were in Las Vegas over the weekend for the Las Vegas Bowl, pitting Oregon State vs. Florida. Many gamblers also thought that the Gators would take down the Beavers, with so many out there checking the NCAAF betting odds and then going with the SEC squad to dominate. That wasn’t the case, however.
Oregon State went on to surprise us all by winning 30-3. This was easily one of the biggest shockers of the bowl season thus far, as the Pac-12 program dominated. With this, Vegas came out big, as people thought a Florida win was coming. That didn’t go down and sportsbooks all across town could see the benefits from that.
Las Vegas businesses have been booming throughout the football season
In what has been fantastic news for Sin City, Las Vegas businesses have been boomingthroughout the football season, which you’re always going to want to hope for. In previous years, the Coronavirus pandemic had brought things down from a tourism and financial standpoint. However, it looks like the worst is in the past.
With so many different restaurants, bars and venues opening up, this is leading to more and more people wanting to make their way to Las Vegas. With this, it obviously means that people are going to be spending more of their money by visiting these local shops and eating venues. With the football campaign in its prime right now, that’s great news for Vegas as a whole.
The Raiders continue to bring in a lot of people to the city, while college football fans are also enjoying their time in the area. With the ability to visit all the different sportsbooks and bars/restaurants nearby, it 100 percent makes the experience that much better. This isn’t going to be changing in the future. Once the NFL postseason arrives, people are going to look to check out the Super Bowl betting odds and lay down some primetime bets.
Who knows, perhaps someone else will lay down a playoff parlay that brings them home nearly $3 million. We saw this go down over the weekend. Who’s to say it doesn’t happen again? This is all that makes Vegas so darn fun. Parlays are exciting and need multiple outcomes to go the right way. If you’re feeling risky, go ahead and check out the odds to get something done.
