Adesanya (19-0-0) to pick Costa apart with strikes and get the KO/TKO
Adesanya has never been so confident. He hasn’t lost a fight since deciding to join the MMA scene, having previously dominated kick-boxing at middleweight. He has faced a variety of tests, from top-tier fighters and veteran fighters.
We expect the Yoel Romero fight to be the first real challenge for the Nigerian. However, the event was largely unimpressive, with Romero adopting a technique of standing still and not attacking the front foot. Don’t expect Paulo Costa to do the same thing.
While both fighters have a burning disgust for one another, they do have a mutual connection in that they both beat Yoel Romero in their last fight. Both fighters are also unbeaten in the UFC, but it’s Adesanya who is the favourite in the UFC Vegas odds.
But it will not be plain sailing for the Nigerian, as Costa brings a very physical hyper-aggressive game. The problem is that there is no better strike in MMA than Adesanya. If Costa doesn’t land a strike, then he will take a beating as Adesanya picks him apart.
Take Israel Adesanya to win, giving a beating to Costa with a range of strikes (-170).
