The first two weeks of the new NFL campaign have been simply sensational. There’s been some amazing upsets, some last-minute thrillers, and so much more. Come this next upcoming week for the schedule, even more, excitement is on the way. In this piece, we have NFL picks for Week 3 of the 2022 season, which includes the Monday Night Football showdown between the Giants and the Cowboys.
Giants are favored over the Cowboys for MNF
This is one of the best rivalry in the game, and now New York and Dallas are facing off in primetime. Leading up to this one, the Giants are favored over the Cowboys for MNF and people can’t wait for this showdown to arrive. Both of these squads have plenty of confidence, as they were able to come out on top of their Week 2 showdowns.
Starting with the Giants, this team has exceeded all of the expectations in front of them. No one thought NY would be able to take down the Tennessee Titans in the season-opener, and then they were able to not only beat them but they also downed the Carolina Panthers too. The defense has carried this team, and it’s been great to see for new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.
Meanwhile, for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott will be sidelined a little while due to his injury, but Cooper Rush stepped in nicely against the Cincinnati Bengals and did more than enough for the team to record a victory. Now, Rush will have to put on a show against the Giants to try and record a big win on the road. Will he be able to get that job done?
According to the best-rated sportsbooks, which includes the reliable Bovada review, the Giants currently hold -142 NFL betting odds to grab the win. Meanwhile, for the Cowboys, they’ve been set at +120. While anything can happen in this one, we’re going with the home team for this showdown. We’re going with the Giants as our pick to take down the Cowboys.
Look for the Packers to take down the Buccaneers
Elsewhere in the NFC, look for the Packers to take down the Buccaneers when they meet up this weekend. Everyone will be talking about Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady facing off for this one, and rightfully so. These are two of the best QBs of all time, and they’re still playing at a high level. Whenever they do battle, there’s sure to be plenty of intrigues, and Week 3 will be no different.
Both QBs were able to record wins in Week 2 as well. The Packers really needed a strong performance after opening the season with a loss on the road to the Minnesota Vikings. In the Sunday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears, Rodgers looked fantastic, throwing for two touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones also played well, scoring twice.
With the Bucs, they beat the New Orleans Saints, but not everything was great for this team. That’s because star wideout Mike Evans got into a brawl and shoved Marshon Lattimore. On Monday, it was announced that Evans had been suspended for one game, meaning he won’t be able to catch balls for Brady going up against the Packer’s defense.
Per the oddsmakers, the Bucs are favored for this one, as they hold -142 odds. The Packers have been set at +120, but you never want to count out Rodgers for a big game. We think Rodgers will stun the fans in Tampa Bay by leading the Packers to a win – Green Bay is our pick to win straight up. Agree? Check out our best NFL betting sites to get a wager in.
Lastly, we do not doubt that the Chiefs will dominate the Colts in Week 3 when they meet. This game may be in Indianapolis, but the Chiefs are 100 percent the superior team. That’s always going to be the case when Patrick Mahomes is on the field making big plays for the Kansas City offense. Mahomes is one of the best players in the league, and that’s not going to change.
People are still trying to bring KC down because Tyreek Hill is out of town and now with Miami, but this offense hasn’t lost a step. Mahomes is a big reason for that, but you’ve also got to give a lot of credit to tight-end Travis Kelce. Kelce has been fantastic to start the year and he’s been a savior for Mahomes. That will continue to be the case against the Colts.
For Indy, the first year of Matt Ryan hasn’t quite gone according to plan, and things are only going to get tougher for them vs. the Chiefs. Kansas City holds -250 odds and we do not doubt our minds that they’ll be able to take care of business against the Colts. It doesn’t matter that this game is being played in Indianapolis. It won’t slow down Mahomes at all.
