While plenty of the attention right now is for UFC 277 to arrive for fans to enjoy, don’t forget that there’s some exciting UFC Fight Nights on the way soon. This includes an Aug. 6 event, which will be headlined by Thiago Santos and Jamahal Hill putting the gloves on. In this article, we have UFC picks for Santos vs. Hill Fight Night, which will be on ESPN. Who will come out on top?
Hill is the big-time favorite to record a win
Per the best rated sportsbooks, Hill is the big-time favorite to record a win in this one with -220 UFC odds, as he’s really been coming on strong of late. Hill enters the octagon for this particular battle with a 10-1-0 record. As for Santos, he’s got plenty of experience under his belt, as he’s posted a 22-10-0 mark. These two guys are studs in their divisions and they’ll be ready to light up the stage.
With Hill, the fact that he’s only lost once has him standing out quite a bit in this case. He’s got a massive fanbase and people are ready to see what he can do against someone like Santos. Santos himself is known for delivering some fantastic punches and he makes you pay if he’s not too careful. This really should end up being a fantastic fight.
“I’m in there, there’s only one hammer, and I’m never the nail. So they can expect dominance,” Hill said with confidence previewing his upcoming fight with Santos – which fans really can’t wait for. “Same thing as always: I’m coming, it’s all action.”
Hill is showcasing plenty of confidence leading up this battle and it’s easy to see why. Santos has been given +250 odds, which tells you how big of an underdog he is for this one. Only time will tell how things end up here, but it should be an interesting matchup. From our chair, we think that Hill will be able to record a win. Agree? Shamil Gamzatov should cruise to a win over Misha Cirkunov
In another exciting matchup, Shamil Gamzatov should cruise to a win over Misha Cirkunov when they meet on Aug. 6. This is another fun fight that people are counting down the days for it to arrive. For Gamzatov, he’ll enter things with a ton of confidence as well, as he has been on a tear inside of the octagon. When the gloves are on, he’s ready to put on a show.
As things stand, Gamzatov has a record of 14-1-0. That one loss stands out, as he’s been near perfect against his opponents. As for his opponent, Misha is 15-8-0. The eight losses stand out as well, just not in a good way. This is a big reason why Gamzatov is considered the heavy favorite to have his hand lifted when that Saturday night meeting arrives.
Right now, Gamzatov has -250 UFC odds, while Misha has been placed at +225. It would indeed be considered a huge upset if Gamzatov were not to win. He’s simply that good and Misha isn’t entering with the same king of swag that his opponent had. Everyone knows that makes a world of difference when you’re getting ready to have a fight of your own.
While this could turn out to be more interesting than people think, we do believe that Gamzatov should be the victor. He’s too good of a fight, and also a smart one, to record any kind of silly mistakes against Misha. He holds a 14-1-0 record right now, but we strongly believe that win No. 15 is going to be coming early next month. That’s right, Gamzatov is our pick.
Last but not least, don’t forget about Bryan Battle vs. Takashi Sato when they face off on Aug. 6. This is yet another exciting fight that MMA fans are ready to see. While the odds for this one haven’t quite been set yet, the expectation is that this one could be a see-saw battle, with both guys trying to record an impressive win. That won’t be easy at all, however.
In terms of quickness, both these guys have speed that could make the other pay. On top of that, power isn’t going to be an issue for either of them as well. That’s what’s going to make this one so interesting, as their fighting styles are quite similar. Just when you think one person might have the edge, the other one will be ready to surprise you out of nowhere.
Again, the odds for this one haven’t been posted yet, but that should be coming soon. Despite that, we still think that Battle will be able to do just enough to come out on top. It’s not going to be easy for him and Sato has the potential to record a victory, but we like Battle in this one.
