The weekend is right around the corner and with the calendar reading late June, you already know there are some huge contests on the way. Both in the American League and National League, people will be turned into what should be some thrilling contests. In this article, we have MLB picks for the biggest games on June 25, which of course features the monster battle between the Yankees and Astros.
The Bronx will be rocking for the New York-Houston series
We don’t have to tell you, but the Bronx will be rocking for the New York-Houston series, with things all set to get started on Thursday night. This will be a thrilling four-game series and it really could end up being a preview of the AL Championship Series, as both the Yankees and Astros figure to go on deep postseason runs. People can’t wait for things to get going this week.
On Saturday, the two teams will meet in the afternoon for some fun under the sun at Yankee Stadium. The pitching lineups and MLB odds are yet to be released, but you can fully expect this one to be an incredible showdown. Starting off with the Yankees, they’re looking like the best team in Major League Baseball. Not just the AL, but the entire MLB as a whole.
We’ve of course got to bring up the play of outfielder Aaron Judge, as the slugger is in the middle of another great year. As things stand, Judge is looking like he’s going to run away with MVP honours. People felt like he should have won it in 2017, but Jose Altuve of the Astros ended up winning it in a controversial fashion. Judge is ready for some revenge here.
As we stated above, the MLB odds are yet to be released by the best-rated sportsbooks. Having said that, you better believe that the Yankees will be favored to come away with a win, especially with this showdown coming at their home stadium. Houston will hope to make things interesting, but we don’t think an upset will come. We’re going with the Yankees as our pick.
Dodgers vs. Braves will be another amazing meeting
Meanwhile, over in the National League, the Dodgers vs. Braves will be another amazing meeting, as these two teams have formed quite a little fun rivalry. The Braves stunned everyone last year by winning the World Series, with it really looking like the Dodgers were well on their way to getting the job done once again. Atlanta had other ideas here, though.
Now, they’re all set to meet later this week for what should be an interesting series. This includes a battle on Saturday that should have countless fans following it from start to finish. Who’s going to come out on top? That’s tough to say, as just like the game between the Astros and Yankees, both of these teams truly feature an unreal amount of talent.
With the Dodgers, they made countless headlines last offseason when they signed Freddie Freeman to his six-year deal. Who did Freeman previously play for? You guessed it, the Braves. Now, Freeman will be returning to Atlanta to take on his former team. You shouldn’t expect any drama or boos to be going Freeman’s way, as he remains absolutely adored in the city.
Atlanta as a whole is playing with some confidence, as they’re inching closer and closer to the New York Mets in the NL East standings. While the Dodgers and Braves will look to increase their World Series odds, they’ll need to win plenty more games before that happens. Come Saturday, this really should be a toss-up, but we’re going to go with the Braves as our pick.
Can the Red Sox keep going strong against Cleveland?
A question people have leading up to the weekend too is can the Red Sox keep going strong against Cleveland? Boston started off the year pretty dang cold, but fans are excited about what they’ve seen from the club in recent weeks. In order for Boston to keep making a splash and get to the postseason, they’ve got to keep things rocking in this case.
The Guardians are going to try and make life pretty darn difficult for them, which includes a matchup on Saturday in Cleveland. The AL Central side would love nothing more than to take down Boston in front of their home fans. The Red Sox have other ideas, though, as they’ll be ready to try and record a win here and do so in a pretty impressive fashion.
This should be another great game and it really could go either way. Boston has been on a tear, but Cleveland has the kind of lineup that is able to catch fire in any given contest. Because of this, we think the Guardians will get hot on Saturday and take down Boston. Yup, we’re going with Cleveland as our pick when they face the Red Sox.
