With some of the biggest golf tournaments that the PGA Tour starting to ramp up during the 2022 year as the Masters was recently played, it’s time to start looking at some of the other events that are going to be taking place throughout this calendar year and some of the best golfers to put your money on.
The PGA Championship is going to be coming up next month on May 16th, the US Open will be in the following month, and then the Open Championship will be in the following month.

The 28-year-old Xander Schauffele might not have that big tournament win that every golfer is looking for, but he still has some impressive finishes in major events. He tied in second in both the 2018 Open Championship and the 2019 Masters. Schauffele also won a European Tour.
He looks to be playing well at the moment as he and Patrick Cantlay recently tied a tournament record at the Zurich Classic, shooting 59.
Having Viktor Hovland on this list at this high of a rating certainly doesn’t feel right with his resume. The youngster is only 24 years old and became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour by winning the 2020 Puerto Rico open.
Because of his age and a tough showing at the Masters as he finished at +4, having him at nine isn’t that much of a stretch.

The 35-year-old Shane Lowry has been one of the best golfers in his entire career. What he was able to do during the 2022 Masters only solidifies himself as still being one of the best in the world. He finished tied in third place with Cameron Smith.
Lowry is the 2019 Open Championship, the Irish Open Championship as an amateur in 2009, and a 2015 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational champion.
The Spanish professional golfer Jon Rahm was the number one golfer in the world amateur ranking for a record 60 weeks and later became the world’s number one golfer in the Official World Golf ranking.
He won the Memorial tournament in 2020.
Rahm didn’t have a great showing at the Masters as he finished tied in 27th place and shot +4.
Rory Mcllroy has a great argument for being the number one golfer in the world after what he was able to do in Augusta. He finished in second place after going -7 and has other prestigious wins in his career. Rory had an incredible Sunday round in the Masters which helped him finish in second place.
He is a former world number one in the Official World Golf rankings, having spent over 100 weeks in that position during his career.
When thinking about golf, one of the first names as it was going to come to mind is Dustin Johnson. He has won two Major championships in his career including the 2016 US Open and the 2021 Masters tournament with a records score of 268, which was 20 under-par.
He didn’t necessarily have a bad showing in the Masters as he finished in 12th Place with a +1 finish, but anytime that Dustin Johnson doesn’t win the event, it is certainly looked at as a disappointment in his eyes.
What other golfer right now would be better to put your money on than Scottie Scheffler. What he was able to do at the Masters was incredible as he finished winning the event at -10.
