With the COVID cases dropping across the country, the same can be said for Nevada. With lower cases, this means that restrictions are starting to drop as well. With those, things have changed, as masks are now optional for Vegas casino visitors. Previously, there was a mask mandate in place which made it 100 percent mandatory for people to use them indoors. This was in order to try and help prevent the spread of things.
About three weeks ago, though, Las Vegas lifted that mask mandate. Now, moving forward, if you want to visit a Las Vegas casino, check out the different Vegas odds and place a wager, you don’t need to rock a mask. If you want to go play some blackjack, poker, or other casino games, you can do so freely without protection on your face. This has been welcoming news for people.
With that said, there are still visitors of the casinos who remain a little concerned about the virus, so they’re choosing to keep wearing masks. This is completely fine, as it’s optional and they won’t be penalized or anything for that. However, people can bet freely without those masks on. This is a sign of things moving in the right direction in terms of the coronavirus as a whole.
“Given all of these updates and the tools we have, now is the appropriate time for me to announce that Nevada will rescind our mask mandate, effective immediately,” Governor Steve Sisolak said in mid-February. “Just like vaccines, masks are still a great tool that we have at our disposal. I expect going forward to still see Nevadans and visitors utilizing masks when they are out in public.”
As you probably would have been able to guess, the new mask policy will result in more people going to casinos in the future. People were hesitant to previously go, before there’s still plenty of folks who never agreed with the mask mandate in the first place. Countless betting fans were actually boycotting casinos because they refused to wear a mask, which was strange to see on its own.
Now, though, those same people will feel more comfortable visiting different places in Sin City and placing wagers. On top of that, this should increase the number of people who plan vacations and make their way to Las Vegas for some trips as well. Sin City is always going to be a popular spot for people to visit, but people were hesitant to travel there because of the masks.
With the rules changing, this will surely result in more visitors to the city as a whole. This is big news as well due to the NCAA Tournament is right around the corner. Las Vegas is always a popular destination for people to go to during March Madness, as they love placing bets on their favorite college basketball teams. People will check out the NCAAB odds and then put money down at the best-rated sportsbooks.
Come March and early April, you can expect a big spike of people visiting Las Vegas because of the college hoops’ action. With so many big games on the way, hoops supporters are going to use that time as a way to plan a trip and also put down bets. On top of the excitement for March Madness odds, the mask mandate will be crucial for MLB season as well. The only thing we’re waiting for is to find out exactly when the campaign will arrive. The MLB lockout has continued in full force, as the owners and MLBPA can’t get on the same page, but the hope is that things can get finalized in the near future.
Once Opening Day gets here, you already know that there’s going to be an insane amount of people who will be ready to check out the MLB World Series odds and then make some futures picks. First, though, the lockout must end before MLB fans out there can get things done from a betting standpoint. Only time will tell if that can get done in the coming weeks.
There’s been some hope of late, as the pressure is most definitely on commissioner Rob Manfred to step up and help out with the efforts.
