There’s Ice Hockey action at the top of the Central and Atlantic Divisions tonight, and these are the matches that will make up our Tuesday night NHL betting picks.
In the Central Division, it now looks like a straight fight for second place between the Wild and the Blues after the recent form of Colorado Avalanche.
The Blues will be looking to retake the second position when they visit Philadelphia this evening.
Over in the Atlantic Division, the Panthers will be looking to extend their lead at the top. While beneath them, the Maple Leafs need a win just to try and cling onto the Panthers’ coattails.

The Panthers and Maple Leafs make up two of the top four betting favorites in Vegas Odds for the 2022 Stanley Cup.
BetUS has the Panthers at +750, and Maple Leafs at +900.
The first match I want to look at tonight is the St Louis Blues away trip to Philadelphia.
Although the Blues aren’t regarded as one of the Stanley Cup betting favorites, they are enjoying a decent season.
BetUS makes them +2200 to win the Cup, but in the Central Division, the Blues are in with a great chance of finishing second to Colorado Avalanche.
At the moment Craig Berube’s team sits third behind Avalanche and Minnesota Wild.
Minnesota is also in action tonight, and if they slip up, a win for the Blues will see them go second.
The Flyers’ last ten match record reads 2-6-2, and they are also on a losing streak of five. As for the Blues, in their last ten, they are 6-3-1, and on a winning streak of just one.
The Flyers are +175 on the Moneyline, with the Blues at -200. On the handicap, the Flyers are -150 with a +1.5 point start. While starting from –1.5 points, the Blues are +125.
The Flyers do have goals in them, but in three of those five defeats, they have lost by more than 1.5 goals.
In the Blues’ last four matches, they have won three, and all three wins were by greater margins than 1.5 goals.
So I’m happy to take the better odds and make a St Louis Blues win on the handicap my betting pick for this match.
The Florida Panthers are in great form. In their last ten matches, they are 8-2-0, and they currently sit top of the Atlantic Division on a winning streak of three.
Despite sitting fourth in the Central Division, the Predators are on a losing streak of four. In their last ten, they are 4-5-1.
The Panthers are -200 on the Moneyline, with the Predators at +170.
I’m not sure about taking the Panthers at these odds though. The Predators are still arguably in with a chance of finishing second in the Central Division. All this after a bad run, that has only seen them drop to fourth.
In short, they were doing something right earlier in the season, and can’t be dismissed.
Both these sides’ matches, especially the Panthers, have had plenty of goals lately, therefore I make over 6.5 goals in the total goals market my betting pick.

Finally, our old friends the Toronto Maple Leafs visit Columbia to take on the improving Blue Jackets.
The Maple Leafs are -200 on the Moneyline, while the Blue Jackets are +170.
In the handicap spread, the Maple Leafs are +120 from -1.5 goals start, and the Blue Jackets are -150 from a +1.5 goals start.
In total goals, the spread is set at 6.5, with over and under both -110.
The Blue Jackets are 7-3-0 in their last ten, with the Maple Leafs 6-4-0.
The Blue Jackets have won their last two, and in their last six, they have won five of them. Those wins came over the Capitals, Sabres (2), Blackhawks, and Canadiens.
Only the Capitals are doing okay out of those teams. The match the Blue Jackets lost in that streak was a 6-2 defeat to the in-form Flames (10-0-0).
The Maple Leafs have lost their last two in a row, to the Blues (6-3) and the Canadiens (5-2). They are 6-4-0 in their last ten.
On form, I would have to go with the Blue Jackets, but we all know that the Maple Leafs can just turn up and beat anybody when they’re on song.
As I can’t predict which Maple Leafs will turn up, let’s play safe and go with what we know.
Maple Leafs matches always have goals in them – at both ends! So over 6.5 total goals has to be the betting pick.
