We have barely been able to close our eyes on the NFL season, with the Los Angeles Rams taking down the Cincinnati Bengals last weekend in Super Bowl 56. Now, people are already placing their wagers for things next winter? Yup, as Las Vegas sportsbooks are already getting 2023 Super Bowl bets coming on. So, which team is getting the most money on them thus far?
Apparently people don’t think the disappointing finish this season for Kansas City will matter, as Chiefs fans are betting big in Las Vegas already for Andy Reid and Co. to power this team to the Super Bowl next year. This doesn’t come as a major surprise, as Kansas City looked poised to make it to the big game this year, but they were stunned by the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Despite that tough result, Kansas City is all set to welcome back a ton of key players next season. This of course includes Patrick Mahomes, who is focused on getting back to the Super Bowl for the third time in the past four seasons. Two years ago, the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to win it all, but last season they suffered a rough defeat to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mahomes is highly motivated right now.
“I mean, it still hurts.” Mahomes said of the loss to the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. “I mean, you want to be in that Super Bowl, but you enjoy this. It’s an honor to be in the Pro Bowl and so to be able to be in the Pro Bowl with a lot of my teammates, seeing their families, it’s a good way to kinda cap off the season.”
Come next year, however, Mahomes wants to make sure he doesn’t play in the Pro Bowl. Instead, he wants to make sure that he and his teammates are the ones that make it to the Super Bowl to take on the NFC Champions. Will the Chiefs end up getting that job done? As you might have been able to guess, they’re not the only team with his Super Bowl odds entering the new season.
As you might have been able to guess, the Bills and Rams also have high Super Bowl odds right now in Las Vegas for fans to take a look at. The Rams Super Bowl odds have been set at +1000 after they won it all earlier this month. Meanwhile for the Bills, their NFL odds have been set at +750. The Chiefs indeed hold the No. 1 odds leading up to the new season, as they’re at +600.
Starting with the Rams, they’ve got a lot of question marks leading up to the offseason. For starters, it’s up in the air if superstar pass-rusher Aaron Donald will be back or not next season. After recording yet another First-Team All-Pro season, rumors began to swirl that Donald could end up retiring if the team won the Super Bowl. After the win against the Bengals, Donald wouldn’t discuss his future. He very well could call it a career.
Meanwhile on offense, veteran left tackle Andrew Whitworth is expected to retire, while Odell Beckham Jr. is going to be a free agent this offseason. Some bad news for the Rams too here is that OBJ suffered a torn ACL in the win over the Bengals. It’s also up in the air if he’ll be back with Los Angeles next season, but he very well could sign with a new team.
As for the Bills, this team has what it takes to get to the Super Bowl next year too. The defense is spectacular and Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the game. This team was 13 seconds away from getting to the AFC Championship game to take on the Bills, but they suffered their heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs. Allen and his teammates are ready to try and get over the hump.
A head-turning number that came out via the best NFL betting sites is that Green Bay has been set at +1500. This tells us that the Vegas bettors have doubts on the Packers and Aaron Rodgers being able to make noise next season. Matter of fact, this also tells you that people don’t think Rodgers will be back with the team next year. With Rodgers under center, Green Bay is one of the best teams out there.
However, Rodgers’ future is uncertain. He could end up playing with a new team next year – he’s been linked to the Broncos and Titans of late – or he could retire. After winning MVP earlier this month, Rodgers said he is yet to make a decision on next season. He most definitely left the door open for retirement, but Packers fans are hoping that doesn’t happen. Only time will tell what happens, but things aren’t looking great for the Packers next season.
