“I wouldn’t call it surreal. I’d say it’s exciting,” Burrow said of playing in the Super Bowl. “I think if you would’ve told me before the season started that we’d be going to the Super Bowl, I probably would’ve called you crazy, but then we played a whole season and nothing surprises me now. In terms of offense, look for either the Rams or Bengals to start things off with a bang at the 2022 Super Bowl. Both these teams have unreal offenses, and the talent for the two sides has been showcased throughout the postseason. While we’ve discussed the play of Burrow at length, you simply can’t forget about Stafford here. In his first year with the Rams, the veteran QB has been great.
This is what the Rams traded for when they first got Stafford. It was clear that Jared Goff wasn’t going to be able to get them back to a spot where they could maybe win it all. With Stafford, though, this offense is electric. The midseason acquisition of OBJ has been amazing too, as he’s been brilliant for the offense. Beckham has reminded folks of how good he can be.
With all of that said, the odds for either the Rams or Bengals to score on the first drive of the game has been set at +114. If you don’t think a touchdown will be recorded to start off the Super Bowl, then you can bet against that with -138 odds. The way both of these offenses have looked, though, it’d almost be a surprise if someone didn’t come out and land a punch early on.
Regardless of who ends up receiving the ball first, our expectation is that an offense will be able to record a methodical drive to start things off. If Burrow has the ball in his hands, he’ll find Chase and others often in the first drive. Meanwhile for Stafford, he’ll be ready to find Beckham, Kupp and more. Yup, we’re picking the first drive of this game to end with a touchdown.
