It’s Friday and the start of the weekend, and as sure as Saturday follows tomorrow, there is top-quality action from the NHL tonight!
Tonight we see matches involving the Golden Knights, the Oilers, and the Ducks hosting the Flames in California.
Does it get much better than this?
All NHL sides have now played twenty-plus matches, meaning the conference tables are well established, and we can now make a far more qualified judgment on who we believe will top the tables, and ultimately win the 2022 Stanley Cup.
Colorado Avalanche is still the betting favorite.
But over the past few weeks, the Maple Leafs and the Panthers have started to look incredibly dangerous and could be pushing the Avalanche for the favorites tag soon.
Another team not having a great season in the Pacific Division is Seattle Kraken, and they have their work cut out tonight when they face the in-form Edmonton Oilers.
Match – Seattle Kraken v Edmonton Oilers
Where – Key Arena, Seattle, Washington, USA
When – Friday, December 3rd, 2021
Time – 10pm ET
This is Seattle Kraken’s first season in the NHL and a record of 8-13-2 isn’t an ideal start. It’s still early days in the club’s existence, and there is still time for this season to get better – or, on the flip side, worse!
Anyway, let’s hope it’s the former.
In their last 10 matches, the Kraken is 4-5-1 which shows a vast improvement of late.
They will need that improvement as well if they’re to compete against an Oilers side who have won their last three and have a 7-3-0 record in their last 10 matches.
The Oilers’ last three wins were a 5-2 win at home to the Penguins, a 3-2 win away at the Golden Knights, and a 5-3 win over the Coyotes.
Their overall record this season reads 16-5-0.
Given they’re on the road, rather than go with the Oilers to win on the handicap, I’m just going to go with them to win on Moneyline with MyBookie.

Our final match-up tonight also comes from the Pacific Division, with two of the leading teams clashing in California.
Match – Anaheim Ducks v Calgary Flames
Where – Honda Center, Anaheim, California, USA
When – Friday, December 3rd, 2021
Time – 10pm ET
The Anaheim Ducks are having an okay season and sit third in the Pacific Division table, although they have played more matches than anybody else.
The Ducks record this season reads 13-8-3, while over the last 10 matches they are 6-4-0.
They’ve just recorded back-to-back wins and will be looking to make it three in a row.
On Wednesday they beat the Golden Knights 6-5 in a thriller, and prior to that, they beat the Kings in a shoot-out.
Tonight’s opponents, the Calgary Flames sit top of the Pacific Division after beating the Kings 3-2 last night.
In their last 10, the Flames are 7-1-2, and they are on a winning streak of two.
I’m expecting a tight game here. The call here is, do I go with the team with home advantage, or the team in slightly better form – and it’s a tough decision to make.
So I’m looking at over and under total goals instead.
Both sides have had a lot of high-scoring matches lately, so I’m going to go with over 5.5 goals here.
